My first TLM in many, many years

Last Sunday I heard Mass at my first TLM in many, many years. I was really surprised that it was done so reverentially and properly; it was in a regular, novus ordo parish, and I was surprised the (young!) priest was able to do it so well. It was a high Mass and it was very respectful. I was surprised and impressed! As was my son, for whom it was his first-ever TLM (or any RC Mass, for that matter.)

Years ago, when they started the indult, many parishes would offer a TLM, but they would have a low Mass, and it would be held around 2 in the afternoon, which made it very hard for those who wanted to abstain from food/water for Holy Communion, from midnight the night before. I remember going to one in Dover, DE that was horrible…women all had pants on, some had beach clothes on (!) and none had their heads covered except for me.

This one was a lot different, and it was PACKED!

High Masses are awesome!
 
It would send chills down my spine in excitment to see a young priest celebrating the TLM.

The church I attend has 4 priests…although they do cover an enormous chunk of the globe. I think the eldest is about 40 and he is the most junior of the priests in so far he was ordained last year…

Good to hear. May I ask what general area are you from?

Here in NJ, we’ve got lots to pick from. We’re spoiled.
 
I would love the chance to attend a TLM High Mass as I’ve only been to 2 TLM Low Masses.
