My friend Eddie just found out from the cardiologist that he has mitral valve prolapse and it is leaking very badly! DO PRAY FOR EDDIE! Thanks all

My friend Eddie just found out from the cardiologist that he has mitral valve prolapse and it is leaking very badly . He was told he will probably need surgery to replace this valve . PLEASE pray for Eddie . LORD I PRAY THAT THIS CONDITION HE HAS IS HEALED AND THE SURGERY IS NOT NEEDED . I can understand what Eddie is going through, as I had a leaking mitral valve, yet I was fortunate to have the valve repaired avoiding the need to have an artificial valve and being on anti-coagulants for the rest of my life. My thoughts and prayers will be with Eddie.

Praying for Eddie. My son has mitral valve prolapse and has lived a normal life. He was a very good athlete and had no problems. Is 45 years old and still plays full court basketball.

It is estimated that more than 10% of the population have mitral valve prolapse. Of course a “bad leak” is something to pay attention to, but when diagnosed early and in the right hands, MVP’s worst-case scenario involves valve replacement — but, again, in the right hands, surgical repair is a much better option and has outstanding results.

Take heart. DH got this diagnosis 28 years ago and is only mildly symptomatic and has not needed any treatment.
