My friend was talking to me last night and he is having a big problem now. He’s been married to a woman for more than two years but he still loves his ex-girlfriend although they already broke up and haven’t seen each other for a long time. And now his ex-girl comes back to his city and always tries to hang out with him. He still loves his ex-girl. What should he do? They have no children now. Should he get a divorce or something?

He made a promise to his wife. He did not make a promise to his ex girl friend. He needs to cut off ALL communication with his ex. No emails, no phone calls, no text messages, no “accidently” running into each other, EVERYTHING. What he is doing is cheating on his wife, it may not be physical but he is. And like I said before he made a promise in front of God and everybody to his wife.

Can’t add anything to this, just wanted to second what noclevername said.

he should honor his marriage vows, spend his time and energy in loving and supporting his wife, and write the old gf out of his life. he should also leave fantasy land and come back to earth.

Should he get a divorce or something?
No, he should grow up and be a man. He married his wife! If he was still in love with the other girl he should have thought about that before he got married! But he has taken a vow to this woman, before God, and he should live up to it. He should stop all contact with this ex-girlfriend! And shame on her for getting in contact with a married man. Sounds to me like she just wants to cause trouble. If she loved him so much, she should have come forward before he was married.

My guess is he married this girl to make a point to his ex. Sometimes you wonder what some people are thinking.

Some women don’t want ya until you’re with someone else.

I agree with the other posts, cease contact with her and learn to love his wife like he does the ex. He can do that but it won’t happen overnight.

I agree with what previous posters have said, and want to add that Jesus shows us what real love is- and love is a CHOICE. These “in love” feelings he has for his ex will fade over time. He made a promise to his bride, and he needs to honor that.

He needs to grow up, be a man and honor his marriage vows. Change his email and phone number if need be, never contact the ex girlfriend again, and pray and fast for his wife.

He should cut off contact with this “ex” girlfriend, should tell her to get lost, and should be faithful to his marriage vows.

He is acting like a child. He needs to be a man.
