My Girlfriend: Horrifying Experience

Hey everybody,

I am new here and want to introduce myself a little before I start with the story.
My name is Angel Warrior - Christian and I am 19 years old, Catholic for 15 years.
It is very nice to be on this forum with everyone and looking forward to talking with you.

Here is the story that I was woken up by at 3:39 in the morning by my girlfriend who is in college right now. She lives on campus.

She called me bawling her eyes out in extreme fear of what she heard and experienced during the late hours at the ceramics building. She had to stay late because she needed to finish her projects. She said at exactly 3:00. She heard chainsaw noises not in the building but all around her. Like it was in the same room with her. She was alone. She went to put her things away in the hall heard talking in the bathroom and no one was there. She heard other people laughing and no one was there. At this time I know she was probably white as a ghost. Now on the way home was absolutely terrifying. She has to walk through a woods type area and there was a man falling her. She knew it was a man and every where she went, he went. She could only see his outline in bushes. The bushes were rattling around. She was so scared that she ran into the library to lose him and she did. She also said the man disappeared before that. This happened from 3:00 - 3:15 based on my calculations from reading the times she texted and tried to call me. She said she called me 9 times and I had not received any missed calls or anything.

If anyone can share some thoughts or advice on this situation, some clarification, I would greatly appreciate your time.

Is she Catholic? Is she open to discussing this with a priest? Is she open to prayer?
 
Well 3:00 am is the demons hour. I would not be surprised if it was a demon trying to scary her and destroy her faith. Ask her is she has been doing anything involving the occult. I am not saying she is bad but sometimes what looks like a game can be a dangers tool. Maybe someone else did occult practices there. Regardless pray the rosary for her and tell her to do the same
 
The buildings should be locked at this time-where was campus security? Your girlfriend should never, ever, be out late at night alone especially in an empty building, or campus grounds.
 
The noises she was hearing could have been carried through the vents. Even thought there was no one on her floor there could have been people on other floors or in other parts of the building.

The man following her is scary. In the future, she needs to contact campus security or a friend for an escort when she is working that late. Most campuses have emergency phones available, as well. She should get familiar with their locations and plan her route accordingly.
 
I’d listen to mommy on this one. (what a great name!) It might be helpful, too, the next time she hears stuff, to ask someone with her (she should have someone with her) if they are hearing the same thing.

It is very possible that at 3 a.m., when a person is feeling really groggy, to hear things that are not there. There have been many studies on this. We can hear lots of different things just as we are falling asleep.

Just a quick clarification for the thread:

3AM is NOT the “demon’s hour.” This is a secular superstition and has nothing to do with reality. Demons are capable of being equally active at any time of the day or night.

It is likely your girlfriend was either hallucinating, or, as others said, she was having demonic visions.

I suggest you have her talk to a priest as soon as possible.
 
I sometimes get something called “exploding head syndrome”, where when I’m falling asleep, I hear loud popping noises. It is possibly related to migraines… Late at night, your girlfriend may have heard this.

As for the man following her, encourage her to call the police. They probably won’t find the guy, but they can increase patrols in the area to discourage him.

Think about how daylight savings time might affect the ‘3 am demon hour’

I would make a police report. This could a person messing around with her. College campuses are not always safe at night and a lot can and does happen.

She should see if campus safety has a safe-ride or some other system for student safety at night, and she should ALWAYS carry a CHARGED phone with her and call the police when something suspicious happens .
 
This looks like another one of those threads where someone makes an account, relates a frightening/shocking story, and then never returns. Let’s hope we didn’t all just get fooled again. 😛
 
You think this experience is horrifying.
Last week on Hallowe’en my wife tried to text me several times. Unfortunately I was at the bar after the volleyball game and did not hear the phone buzz, and so no, I did not pick up the orange juice on the way home.
It was cold, dark, and horrifying when I arrived home. And yes, she did have a running chain saw in her hands.

This story is based on actual events.
 
My girlfriend is Catholic but we are currently not practicing and trying to come back to being practicing Catholics again. She doesn’t dabble in anything because I makee sure she doesn’t by educating her on it. 3AM is demons hour because it is suppose to symbolize the mockery of the Trinity. Although I have heard the Blessed mother has a particular time to pray with her. 3:00 I believe that monks and nuns do. I am not sure.

It could of been a jerk college kid. Idk. but it resembled a “shadow” person. and I have seen those creatures before. She is no longer staying late at night like that and walking home by herself. I told her that she can’t stay that late anymore and that she needs to walk home with somebody when it gets dark.

I know about the vents thing but a running chainsaw in a ceramics building doesn’t make any sense. She felt that is was around her. It is pretty freaky stuff. The same night I had a very violent and disturbing demonic nightmare.

That is okay if people aren’t into this thread. This community seemed warm and welcoming so I thought I would seek advice and feedback on an experience. Nothing wrong with that.

Your girlfriend should definitely discuss this experience with a priest–a younger rpiest may be more knowledgeable about this sort of thing than an older one (sadly).

ALSO!!! She should NEVER EVER walk around campus at that hour or even by alone in an empty building like that. There should be what used to be called an escort service (before escort services became something else!) --a number she can call where a vetted fellow student will walk her from where she is to where she’s going. If the service only has certain hours, she needs to make some arrangement, like working with someone else who will walk her home.

Altho crime has gone down since I was in college, she still needs to make sure she is safe from both material and spiritual persons.

Now, today is Tuesday… the way to begin to start practicing your Faith is to wake ip tomorrow and say your morning prayers, then in the evening your evening prayers and an examination of conscience, and add in a short period of spiritual reading and at least one decade of the Rosary. Also, start to prepare to go to Confession *this Saturday, *by making sure you know the time and location, or if you think your confessions will be very long, to make an appointment to confess to the priest. Once your sins have absolved, you will be able to receive the Eucharist again, so the other thing to do it to make a plan to attend Mass this weekend (Saturday evening or Sunday).

IOW, “meaning to return” doesn’t get you anywhere. You actually have to do it. Today 🙂 so the beginning (which is the hardest part) will be done and then you can just be practicing Catholics again! This experience of your girlfriend’s may well have been a wake-up call, so I would take it seriously!

This forum gets lots of “trolls” who post weird stories and hope to watch people make fools of themselves answering them. The savvy users here simply answer the question and move on. Its up to the original poster to stick around and prove he’s not trolling to get more detailed answers.

Basically, it comes down to whether your girlfriend really thought she was being followed; if so, she should have called the police…
 
Similar to what someone else posted:

My daughter was hearing and seeing things. It turned out, after seeing a specialist, testing, talking with a doctor, etc., that she is simply on the far end of the bell curve for slipping into the dream state before she’s fully asleep. Her experiences were all when she was quite tired. (Thank goodness, we were afraid she had schizophrenia.)

I’m not saying that’s it–what your girlfriend heard sounds like more than that–but it’s one possibility, since it was late at night and she likely would have been tired.

Just saying that completely defeats the purpose as Christ ressurected at 3am…but you are right on asking if she got involved with anything occult. Better tell a preist and confess. Pray the rosary…Per padre Pio, that is the best weapon against the devil.
