Good morning everyone. My grandfather (who just turned 83) is in the hospital due to bleeding on the brain. He had brain surgery several years ago to remove two blood clots, and when considering the surgery, he said he would have it because “We are Christians, and we are not afraid.” (He is Catholic.) Now he has Alzheimer’s, and this has obviously impacted our entire family. We miss who he was, hurt for what’s happening to him, and love him so. ❤️

If anyone could pray for him and our family, that if his time to go home to our Lord is soon, that it be a peaceful time for him and our family (I’m more worried for family members than for him at this point). Thank you in advance for your prayers – I KNOW they are heard by our Father in heaven. :crossrc:

God bless you all. :grouphug:

Belle 10, I will pray for your grandfather. My dad had Alzheimer’s, so I know how you feel. God bless you.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Belle 10 , my prayers are with you, your grandfather and your family.
May God love you all!

I lost an Aunt to Alzheimer’s a number of years ago. I’m sorry for your situation. St Anthony is the patron saint of the elderly.

Prayer to Saint Anthony of Padua
Glorious Saint Anthony, my friend and special protector, I come to you with full confidence in my present necessity. In your overflowing generosity you hear all those who turn to you. Your influence before the throne of God is so effective that the Lord readily grants great favors at your request. Please listen to my humble petition in spite of my unworthiness and sinfulness. Consider only your great and constant love for Jesus and Mary, and my desire for their glory and mercy. I beg you to obtain for me the grace I so greatly need, if it be God’s will and for the good of my soul. I place this earnest petition in the care of the little mission children so that they may present it to you along their innocent prayers. Bless me, powerful Saint Anthony, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

May the comfort of Gods’ healing Grace be with you and your family in this time of need.
Jesus I Trust In You.

Paul

Lord, watch over Belle’s Grandfather, and their family. As our loved ones approach the end of their time with their earthly families, our human nature causes us to mourn for our loss, instead of rejoicing their imminent welcome into your Heavenly Kingdom. May Belle’s Grandfather’s devotion to you be a constant reminder to his family, guiding them through this trying time. May his love for you, overflow onto them, that they may find comfort and joy in knowing their beloved will soon rest peacefully, free of alzheimer’s, in your eternal embrace. Grant them strength Lord, and enduring faith in your Will that should their beloved be called home to join you, then one day, they too may join him in Heaven.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Belle,
I will be happy to pray for your grandfather and the rest of your family.

My prayers go out to you and your family for this time of your journey with your grandfatther. My Mom has Alzheimer’s and each day has been a step closer to seeing the magnificent power of God. She has not a clue as to who I am but when I speak the word Jesus or God she lights up. I shall keep your family and grandfathwr as well as you in prayer. our grandfather may not be the same person to you and family members but trust me God knows who and “whose” he is…God has him…covered.

Those who have gone through it…it takes God to bring you through it. He is able and He will.

God bless,

Praying for your grandfather.
Alzheimers is such a terrible
disease.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. What a blessing it is when you can ask strangers for prayers and they offer them willingly! :grouphug:

My grandfather came home from the hospital yesterday. 🙂 It is still a rough road, but at least he’s home. Any continued prayers (they don’t have to be posted) would be appreciated of course.

Offering a prayer of thanks for all of you right now. God bless you!

Praying for your grandfather. Hoping for the best.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
