I called S-Anon in our area and spoke to a wonderful lady. She introduced me to the term “Sexual Anorexia” and I’m going to research that. We also have a list of available meeting times now and both my husband and I will be attending support groups.

I’m feeling more hopeful!

Might I suggest finding another anti-depressant with less sexual side effects; does his doctor know about the issues he is experiencing? Also maybe some behavior change therapy where instead of turning to porn when he gets feelings, to turn to you? Help him to regain his thoughts from some lust, to be as like Christ and offer himself to you, to love you?
This may take some time and therapy with a counseler to address fears he has in this area. PM me if need to discuss more!

:crossrc: Prayers to you. I’m sorry that you are going through this. But it sounds like your husband is a good man, he just needs some support in his time of need. Sex is not the only thing in the relationship, but I understand where you are coming from though. Sex is a part of life also. How long has he been seeing this counselor? Has there been any progress? Maybe you guys need to change counselor’s? I think that you are doing the right thing, and staying be your man. Be there for your husband, and hopefully one day he will come around. His father did major damaged to him by showing him porn. And now maybe your husband feels when he has sex with you, it reminds him of porn and being Catholic porn is not acceptable. He just has to stop seeing porn and relate your sexual life’s separate from that. I hope that everything works out and stay strong.

God Bless,

Gladys

Thank you, we’re aware of the causes of OCD. Please don’t presume that I need to educate myself on his illness. My husband’s therapist is involved in research regarding the strep infection causation, and it has been determined that due to his numerous strep infections as a young child, this probably played a large part in developing his pre-disposition to the disorder. My husband is involved with the study as well.

Ecp007, please don’t bother responding to my situation anymore, I’m not interested in your (name removed by moderator)ut. This thread isn’t about OCD or about convincing you that my husband isn’t a victim of “man on boy” child sex abuse.
You are being extremely unfair to Ecp007, he/she was not attacking you or your husband in anyway.
You posted on here seeking advice, and from what you posted, Ecp007 was qute simply asking if these problems could be because your husband was gay or abused as a child. There was nothing wrong in asking those questions, they were not accusations just questions.
You are the one who mentioned OCD.

I think you’re blaming porn a bit too much. If he prefers a computer screen over you, there’s something else going on.

I think you are naive to what porn actually does to a person once they get involved in it.

I was thinking the same thing. OP, does he claim to only be involved in viewing pornography? And the type of pornography is only naked women?

I am not denying that a sexual addiction causes a lack of intimacy, there just seems to be a real disconnect somewhere. If the man is only viewing porn online, 3 years of abstinence seems unreasonable, IMO.

Most addictions become worse and go to higher levels. Shooting up one time doesn’t work for ten years, KWIM?

I would not be surprised if a couple months from now the OP findsher husband has had multiple affairs, is leading a double life, solicited sex or sexual activities from others, or has other orientation/identity issues.
