Yep, celibacy renders all clergy unable to give advice much less actually listen during the hundreds of confessions or marriage counseling sessions they go through each month. I’ve actually heard that all clergy check their sex drives and pre-vow experiences at the door and that there’s actually a super-secret machine that wipes their memories of anything they ever did before taking their vows…
Yes they are incapable of learing from the experiences of married family and friends they encounter. So they arbitrarily make this stuff up just to torture us lay folk.
It’s a miracle they can be trusted with other stuff like confecting the Eucharist. Guess that’s all they are good for.

No, you surrender your sexuality to God and that’s that. If you can’t master your own body, how can you master other aspects of your life?

Not to say I’m perfect. But I know it’s wrong and when I fall, I get my butt to either my priest or the Basilica for a good Confession.

And saying “our celibate clergy are so out of touch” is assuming a lot. You’re assuming they’ve either never struggled with sexual temptation before their vows or that they don’t struggle after vows.

Yes, it’s hard, but I promise, you wont’ explode.

Boldface mine–DoYouKnow, my husband and I have been married for 30 years this summer. There is no reason for a husband and wife to work on climaxing together. I would say in the 30 years that we’ve been married, it’s happened two or three times, and frankly, it’s not any big deal. Climaxing separately allows us to concentrate on our loved one’s pleasure rather than our own pleasure.

Also, many MANY women, over 80% CANNOT climax from intercourse alone, but must have some sort of digital (fingers) or oral (mouth) stimulation from the husband. So this would make it impossible to climax together.

My husband and I have discovered that things work best if I climax first, and then him. He has learned to delay his climax until I am satisfied. I’m sure your husband will learn, too, but it does take a while. For a man, sex is like a big bang, while for a woman, sex is more like a slow burn. Your husband will discover that pleasing you is the biggest pleasure that he can experience.

One more hint–sometimes foreplay for a woman starts early in the morning, continues in the afternoon, through the early evening, and finally leads to intercourse. For that reason, I disagree that you shouldn’t stimulate the sexual organs much. All-day teasing is a great way for a woman to get in the mood for sex! (Believe me, a man usually doesn’t need all-day teasing–a few minutes is enough to get him ready to rock and roll!). I tell my husband that I really enjoy 12 hours of foreplay! I don’t consider it “masturbation” if it leads to intercourse eventually.

Have fun. Believe me, the best is yet to come!
Cat, that’s great advice. My mother told me much the same as what you said, and the parental units were married 27 years.Dad never did remarry after she passed away in 1982
Also seen this too in several magazine articles as well.

I posed the very same question to my priest, and it is fine for mutual enjoyment, between married couples, as long as the end result is intercourse, being completely open to life.
