My invalid baptism, and conversion to the Jehovahs Witness religion

Because I want to show to one of jw elders the correct meaning of church instead of congregation as they use in jw’s bible.
 
I guess I’d say a couple of things. The Greek word used there is ekklesian, which is the accusative, feminine, singular form of ekklesia, which can legitimately be translated as church, community, or congregation. For your purposes, I don’t think there is a huge hang up here, or at least there shouldn’t be. With JWs, the bigger issue is the Trinity and the divinity of Christ.

For a fuller understanding of ecclesiology, yes, we need to realize that the Church is not the same thing as a congregation of people. Also, be careful when going straight to this verse. I hear it used often in contemporary apologetics, especially when defending Petrine authority. That’s fine, and it certainly does do that. But, we can’t just stop there. Then Cardinal Ratzinger wrote in his book Called to Communion (Chapter two) about the need to defend Petrine primacy with “concentric circles.” So, we can start with Matthew 16: 18, but we can’t end there.

Thanks for your effort, actually that’s what jw said, and I already made anticipation of it and that’s the only reason I want hebrew words.

I do not know about teologia but I have tbem assurance that when jesus means temple he meant it like jewish place for worship, otherwise jesus we’ll never reveal the mass at the book of revelation, the way we are doing now as roman catholic practising mass edpecially liturgy of words and eucharist-

-where is the great apostasy that the JW claim?
-and how do they refute John 6…bread of life discourse & the Eucharist (many left him and the Jews then wanted to kill him; also prefigured in the OT manna from heaven. You would never have the old testament prototype be LESS than the NT fulfillment. The body and blood Jesus was speaking to was HIS…it was not symbolic)

you would need to have a Bible study with a JW elder, and attend 5 weekly meetings, in order to obtain a valid baptism. it would take at least a year, to fully understand their beliefs. in my case, i had to comply, because the SADF stipulated that i had to join the religion, in order to satisfy the conditions of my sentence. once you are baptised, they will expect you to join a ministry school, and you will be expected to give public discourses, and go out in street, and house to house ministry work. eventually you will be assigned shepherding duties, and become an elder, giving weekly public talks, visiting other congregations, and calling on families, to give encouragement. its very different from just living an ordinary family life, as skipping weekly services, or duties, is considered a serious sin. you will have very little time left for recreation, and will be expected to do all this, whilst holding a fulltime job and supporting your family. even fulltime JW ministers are expected to hold jobs to support themselves. its a very demanding life, way beyond what any ordinary individual would be accustomed to leading. many people, especially those who convert, when there is strong family opposition, “crack up” emotionally, or just abandon their duties, as a coping mechanism.in my opinion, the Catholic religion offers far greater freedom and encouragement to help one lead a modest Christian life. i would never voluntarily choose to become a JW.
 
once you are baptised, you essentially become a prisoner. you will need to break all social ties with friends you had in the “world” (non-baptised JW’s), including schoolmates, workmates etc. do not think that it is just a simple matter of leaving, when you grow tired of it. theres a huge emotional cost involved. over the years, you will make many close friends in the religion, and you will loose contact with all the friends you had on the outside. when you eventually decide to leave, they will hold a judicial hearing, and make a public announcement, saying that you have been disfellowshipped (ex-communicated), at the meetings. from that day forward, no JW will be permitted to speak, or even greet you, without being ex-communicated. and no matter where you go, in the world, you will not be permitted to approach, speak or greet any JW. theres a huge emotional price to be paid for leaving. this is what happened to me, after 15yrs of isolation, in their religion. think very carefully before taking the plunge. if i had been given the opportunity back then, by the SADF, to convert to any other religion, Anglican, Methodist, Evangelical, etc, in order to be classified as a “religious objector”, so as to be exempt from doing military service, in SA, during the apartheid era, i would never have become a JW.

I am forever roman catholic coz this is the only religion that has fullness of truth, you can find the truth in other religions or faiths but for COMPLETELY OR FULLNESS OF TRUTH is only in ROMAN CATHOLIC.
I joined the jw bible study just to expose their wrong teachings based on bible so my friends can see . Please keep them in your prayers.🙂
 
am glad that they allowed me to join their religion, although am certain that they realised early on that i was going to eventually leave, as my heart was not in it. but am grateful that the SADF granted me the opportunity to do community service, in place of military service. 3 yrs of subsistence pay, involuntary night shift, community work, in a job that no one else wants to do, exposed to violent crime, drugs and communicable disease, easly beats 6yrs of civilian prison

Whatever happened to you was beyond my imagination, but praise to Our God that it brought you further to find Him in such mysterious way, am glad that you are back home in one apostolic church, we are brother n sister in christ after all.
I pray that you will have beautiful life as our Lord has planned for you. ROME IS OUR SWEET HOME!

Melchior: isn’t the other qualification to be called Christian is to Believe Jesus Christ is God incarnate & not St. Michael the Archangel?
 
Jehovah witnesses is not a religion, it is a cult. Its teaching based on their own bible interpretation, so every one can say I am jesus follower, but can’t keep his true teaching is not jesus follower.
