Don’t mistake me, I agree with you about the unrepentent murderers. I am very strong against abortion, birth control, euthenasia, and embryonic stem cell research. I also know for a fact that anyone who votes for someone who has views that support these things is in mortal sin. I was just questioning your charity on the matter. There is a way to talk about it that isn’t aggressive. I can understand your anger, and where it is just, it should be directed tword those who do not correct their actions. That is all I was trying to get at. We should all be fighting this war together, and unfortunatly, there are too many complacent Christians. They have forgotten the teachings of Jesus, or they think that he is out of the times. I hope you were not offended in any way.
I thought you had misunderstood me. I don’t think it uncharitable to remind people of the final accounting for what we have done and what we have failed to do. I think it is uncharitable not to. Some things are bigger than Democrats winning and Republicans losing. Mass murder is one of those things. Every last one of us has an obligation to resist this evil. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul?

I think that we are losing (yet again) the issue here. Is it a mortal sin to vote for Kerry? Why is it a mortal sin to vote for Kerry who is pro abortion (yuck…that left a bad taste in my mouth) yet we can Vote for President Bush? Is President Bush any better?

Look what he has done, not only his years as president, but what about when he was governor of Texas. Do you agree with any of that? Texas has the highest rate of executions in the United States. Look at all of the innocent lives that were killed during the war. (Yes I know it was because of the 9/11.) I do not think neither one of them should be president.

Yet again, this is the good thing about living in the United States. Freedom of speech. We have a Freedom of choice. I am proud to be a United States Citizen and am proud of my voting rights. But, maybe we need better people running for president. You think?
It boils down to an objective choice between the lesser of two evils. The Church has always acknowledged the right of the state to execute certain criminals, to protect society from them. It has only recently modified this, not reversed it. Given the vast resources of the modern state (e.g., the US), it is not necessary to execute to protect society. Theoretically, we have the capability to lock them up for life. Practically, it is still possible for certain violent criminals to harm others in the prison system. It is difficult to completely isolate these individuals, especially when there are alot of them. It is also still possible for some of these criminals to be released. The practical ability to protect society must be factored in to whether or not capital punishment is immoral. At any rate, the number of yearly executions is miniscule compared with the number of yearly abortions. And the yearly number of innocent lives taken in the Iraq War is also small compared with the yearly number of abortions (1.5 million). BTW, I have never wavered from the opinion that going into Iraq was wrong. Objectively though, abortion is still, by far, the worst injustice.
