Amen!

I couldn’t vote as the “What business is this of yours” was not an option
While this is a personal question it allows folks to share if they so choose to. I don’t see a problem since no one is twisting your arm to answer. I go to confession weekly and the people at my Church see me in line so it can’t be that private! 😉

Greetings to those posting and or reading this thread,

I am a little concerned to vote in the poll as it is public. However I will say this, I am in a blessed situation where I have access to my Confessor as often as I need it.

I went to Confession yesterday. Confession is a blessing in overcoming any sin be it mortal or venial.

God Bless.

Nearly 2 months ago, but I have gone 4 times this year already. I will go one more time before X-mas.

Three days ago. Will probably go again this Sunday before our monthly TLM.

Went to a High Mass at the SSPX chapel in Portland this past Sunday. It was exceptionally well done.

Last week. Thankfully my school has a delayed opening this coming Thursday so I can attend morning mass :extrahappy:

It has probably been since August, though last year I went 4 times in a week before. So I go whenever I feel the urge, or something serious.
Also I don’t go to mass on saturday’s, and that is when confession is held.

Greetings to those posting and or reading this thread,

I just wanted to say that I am in a blessed situation where I have access to my spiritual director everyday, who happens to be my Confessor as well, everyday and have gotten his permission to go to Confession daily. I have started doing so, I would go several times a week, and it has helped tremendously in overcoming vices. I am not sure if this arrangement will last the rest of my life, but I am so thankful that it is present now.

God Bless.

Whenever I feel I need to. Aren’t all venial sins forgiven at Mass anyway?

Greetings Pollycarp,

Yes if one is not in a state of Mortal sin.

However it helps confessing them as well. There are graces from the Sacrament of Reconciliation that are quite helpful in life as well. Many of the saints went to Confession and confessed their venial sins too. It is also recommended by Mother Church that one confess their venial sins in Confession as well.

God Bless.

Thank you. I had been thinking I didn’t want to be a bother to the priest.

I pray that one day I’ll go to confession and struggle to think of something to confess!

I try and go every 2 weeks, but often t turns into 4.

My university offers confession an hour before one of their Sunday Masses. I try to go every week. The only downside is that I would have to go to the Mass right after since it’s the last Mass of the day, so I don’t have wiggle room in my schedule to go to other Masses. Also, it’s the same priest every week and I hate telling the same priest the same sins every week, especially because he always asks, “What do you want to work on?” and don’t want to say the same things every week.

In high school a local retired bishop would give morning Mass in our chapel before school. It started too early for me, but I would go at the end just for confession. I usually went every two weeks or once a month depending, though I aimed for once every two weeks.

I usually don’t go to confession in the summer.

This past weekend I was on retreat and went to confession with a great confessor. Then on Wednesday our school offered confession with many priests hearing confession. I decided to go again. I got the same priest as in the retreat. I felt awkward saying, “It’s been three days since my last confession.”

I go about once a month unless I feel that I have committed a grave sin which should be confessed sooner. The last time I went was during the Octave of All Saints/All Souls.

Thank you. I had been thinking I didn’t want to be a bother to the priest.
Greetings Pollycarp,

Oh no never think that you are bothering the priest. And if he does come across bothered, know that the priest is also human, but Jesus is never bothered when one comes to Confession to ask him for graces. In fact Jesus is always there waiting with arms wide open.

It is rather the Evil One that would like you to think that you are bothering the priest. Don’t give into His lies. Seek after peace and go to Confession if you need to.

God Bless.

I used to go 3-4 times a year. I haven’t been to confession in a couple years. I am embarressed to say that my mass attendance has dwindled. I need to change that.

I think that you have the right idea 🙂

My last confession was about 7 months ago, because I was in RCIA and had my first confession the day before on Palm Sunday. Then I delayed coming into the Church; now I’m coming into the Church this Sunday on Christ the King, so I’m planning on going to confession the day before on Saturday.

After I come into the Church I plan on going to confession monthly or semi-monthly.

I don’t really get why some people are getting mad about this poll…no one is forcing you to answer it? Obviously others wanted to answer and have no problem with it. Really, if I see a poll and feel like it’s too personal or I don’t want to answer it, I just…ignore it. I don’t feel the need to comment “I’m not telling!!”
