Hi, thanks for reading my thread.
I don’t know which forum this should be posted in, hopefully this one is appropriate.

Anyway, I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed and depressed lately. It’s weird because I expected to start to feel better, given that I’ve been able to stay away from pmo for longer than I have in a while(I’ve finally gotten past a week again, but I’m not counting days). Anyway, I’m 25 and I live with my mom. I have a ****** high school level job that I’ve been at for about 7 years now. I don’t know how to leave. I barely have any motivation to leave. Sometimes I hate my job, sometimes I don’t care. I don’t have any goals. I sometimes become interested in something, but I either stop caring about it, or find out I don’t have the attention span for it. I’m pretty sure I have add or adhd, I always knew that school was easier for most other people, but I never figured out why until I read up on it recently. I’ve tried going to college, but every time I either failed my online classes, or dropped my on campus classes because of anxiety. I basically got kicked out of my local college because I dropped/failed too many classes. I made an appointment to talk with the school counselor to maybe just take online classes, but I couldn’t even handle being on campus anymore. I also have problems with anger, I get angry at work, I get angry at home. Lots of things just irritate me, and I don’t really know how to control it, although it has gotten better in the past week or so.

I know I’m just rambling, but it’s easier for me to post it this way, otherwise it would have to be perfect.

I guess I’m just looking for advice. I’ve been confused about stuff a lot lately, and I can’t decide what I should do.

I guess I’d start with seeing a doctor and trying to figure out your anxiety and anger issues and seeing if there’s something that could be done for them.

Two things spring to mind.

and it could be both things making you feel this way.
1st is Diet, Things like diet drinks & energy drinks can bring on such reactions.
As can heavily processed foods & fast foods.
Bad diet can make it hard to concentrate, this becomes an irritation and you end up
either leaving what your doing or exploding in anger.

So look at diet changes (think of food as medicine)

Second is, If you are moving away from sinful things, the evil around us
will work twice as hard to bring you back to it.
Don’t think that you are weak or dumb or anything like that.
You have been hog tied by either bad diet or evil or both.
If you can concentrate on Porn for hours, then you can concentrate
on proper study for hours. That proves that it is not you, but outside influences.
The hard part is not letting evil win, and learning to eat and drink healthier.
Baby steps is the key and don’t expect miracle at every corner, some
days you leap ahead others you slide back, That is life.
Evil is underhanded and offers all sorts of pleasure and bling to entice
all of us. But if you can stay strong and on top of sin for long enough,
the devil will order his fools not to bother with you anymore because
there are now easier target around.

It’s a hard road mate, I’ve been their. but it is worth it in the end.
Do you go to confession? It seems hard to do but it will release
you from the bonds of sin and you will feel fantastic.
You don’t have to state exactly what you watched or did.
you say “I have done impure things and done impure acts and thought impure thoughts”.
He may ask how often, you say “5 times a week for the last 3- 4 - 5 years” what ever it may be.
By confession you are telling the Lord that you are sorry for your sins
and wish to amend your ways.

I’m not an expert, these are just what I found on my path.

Hope this helps.
Pete:thumbsup:

I Guess you just don’t have The drive or Motivation to get anywhere…
Its called the pain barrier. once you break through that pain barrier ,things get easier,
I’v had that several times in my life… its just so hard.
it doesn’t matter if it’s work -school - housework , it’s to break through,
tips to fight it… Diet is a big thing. start yourself a routine. right down in a book all the things that you really must do in a day. and the time of day it must be done. then the in between times, physical exercise, take several really deep breaths, wash your face with cold water,
it’s all about self discipline , study and work, like cleaning up your room in the morning, make the room tidy as if its not your own. you can do it, it’s just a lack of self motivation,
trust me,we have all had it at some stage…

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need. Praying for your intentions.

Some really good suggestions on here. I’m praying for you that you try the advice and find a path that brings good things your way…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

Well, I eat pretty healthy. I don’t eat any junk food, and I cook pretty much everything I eat. I was interested in nutrition for a while, so I read a ton about it, and I figured out what kind of food I do best on.

Well, you could be right about that, but I’m not sure. People with add tend to not have much trouble focusing on things that are engaging, although I never spent hours looking at that stuff. Plus, I’m pretty sure I’ve been like this my whole life. I’ve never done well in school, and I think the they wanted to put me on Ritalin when I was in elementary school, but my mom didn’t let them.

Yeah, I gotta do that sometime. I do have some very difficult things to confess. I’m just not sure if I should try to convince myself to go, or to not think about it at all and try force myself.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I guess. My main problem is that I have no idea how to handle all the things I need to do. Moving out, finding a better job or career. Sometimes it just seems like so much to deal with. The last time I had an interview I couldn’t answer some of the questions. It was pretty bad. That kind of stuff is improving though.

I already eat well, but I am going to try exercising more often. Lots of people say that helps with your ability to focus, as well as depression.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I appreciate it.

Also the censored word in my first post started with a c. I don’t like swearing, so I just don’t want you guys to get the wrong idea.

I just thought it was a school that only gave out A’s, and I wished they had one here.:yup:

Re: Confession.
it always seems harder than what it is.
Some people who have large sins to confess will often seek out a good Priest outside of their parish. They feel more comfortable with a complete stranger instead of a favourite priest. I am yet to meet a priest who has ever thought anything different about a person after confession, it’s just a scare tactic we use on ourselves so that we can validate our decision not to go to confession.
I use to do it myself. If you need to learn more about the who, what, when ,were and why of confession I have two suggestions below.
There are 100’s of sites with this information but here are two that are good Catholic sites.
catholic.org/prayers/confession.php
solemncharge.com/page/How-To-Make-a-Good-Catholic-Confession.aspx

I also looked around for any Catholic support groups for those with ADD or similar.
I hope they are of some use to you and that you find something close to home (or online)
buffalodiocese.org/Evangelization/Disabilities/OpenMindsthroughAwareness/SpecificDisabilities/AttentionDeficit.aspx
This one lets you search for groups in your area.

Remember this life is full of challengers, the bigger they are the greater the reward.
Carry your Cross. If God is weighing it down it is because he wants you to slow down a bit,
and enjoy the simple things in life. Gardening, Fishing, reading, Praying, Helping out the needy.
Remember that to carry your cross through life and to clean your soul through confession,
will find you in Heaven one day and this life will have been your experience of Hell.
But to throw down the cross and love sin will make this same life your only taste
of heaven.
So stay strong mate, Confess all and pick up your cross.
Then when you make it to Heaven, You and I can go fishing one lazy day.

Bless you my Friend.:tiphat:
