I’ve been applying for jobs and have gone to several interviews but still haven’t been successful in finding a job. I have a hard time praying; I wake up and rush into the day without pausing to pray. With no income, I’m limited in what I can do. I’m discouraged about everything.

I can’t pray

John

Tell the Lord that, John, that you ‘can’t pray’. That is also praying, to tell God how you’re feeling, and what’s happening with you, and that you feel discouraged and disappointed.
Jesus also cried out from His heart in His suffering: “My God, my God, why have You abandoned Me?”

Loving God please bless and inspire John in all aspects of his life, including in his job applications and interviews.

St Joseph whose working life suffered several disasters, when the family left home to go to Bethlehem, and when the family fled from Bethlehem to Egypt as refugees from the Jewish king’s murderous soldiers, and then again on the relocation to Nazareth, each time requiring finding sufficient work to support your family…please pray for John in his need for employment.

Mother Mary who endured these times where your spouse needed work and had to rebuilf his carpentry clientele, please pray for John.

Lord, please grant John suitable work and see that as a laborer, he receives his due wages. Penetrate the dark clouds of this fallen world, and shine joyous light into John’s life. Instill in him many graces for faith, hope, love, and joy. Send angels to protect him and guide him always. Grant angels to guide a suitable employer toward him. Lead him ever to the eternal banquet of joy. Have mercy, Lord. Our Lady, angels, and saints, pray with us. Amen.

Prayers for your job.

St. Cajetan seems to be the Patron Saint of job-hunters, Saint Joseph is prayed to as well.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to his assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Lifting up your intentions in a novena to the Sacred Heart…

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena

O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.”

Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of…

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory be…

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.” Behold, in your name, I ask the Father for the grace of…

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory Be to the Father…

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said: “Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.” Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace of…

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory Be to the Father…

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours.

Hail, holy Queen…
Pray for us O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Amen.

Bear in mind the words of Our Lady of Salette:

“My children, you must say your prayers well at night and in the morning. even if you say only an Our Father and a Hail Mary. When you can do better, say more.”

Our Lady - pray for us that we can truly honour you.

Amen

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Heavenly Father, please be with your servant and comfort him during his time of need.

In life, we always are bogged down with problems, and it seems like our problems become more of our priority than our God. Remember that God may give us problems to test us and see if we come to Him for help. Sit down for five minutes at a local church. Look to the tabernacle and tell Jesus your problems. I promise you, you will love the feeling! I can’t guarantee that you will get a job, but I promise that God will take care of you.

I will offer a Hail Mary for you and your intentions, and also for God’s intentions for you.

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray

Almighty, everlasting God, who by the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, prepared the body and soul of the glorious Virgin-Mother Mary to become a worthy dwelling for Thy Son: grant that we, who rejoice in her commemoration, may, by her loving intercession, be delivered from present evils and from the everlasting death. Amen.

Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust, saying,
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations,
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials,
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows,
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts,
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Thy grace alone can assist me,
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Thy tender love as Father and Savior,
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me,
Jesus, help me!

When sickness and loneliness overcome me,
Jesus, help me!

Always, in weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind,
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.
