I am leaning more toward “troll” hypothesis. I think the OP is trying to provoke outrage. I suppose he really could be thick enough not to predict the responses he’s received, though.
I’m sure there are people who might genuinely react like this.

If that’s the case, I have little hope that the OP will develop the introspection, sense, and humility needed to have any sort of shot at saving his marriage.

Wow I came here expecting some level of Christian love and understanding. I’m accused of being a troll or I’m judged harshly despite admitting I was wrong. We are all sinners. You stand there with stones in your hands but wih sins on your souls.

Yes I’m in love with her. I can’t help it. It’s a feeling. It’s what I feel. I want to fix things with my wife. And no the prison wasn’t lost a year and a half ago. It was lost way before I even met this woman. My wife also failed on her end. She also had a duty to me and didn’t fulfill it and now hat I’m trying she isn’t working on her end. I tried for years and wanted to make my marriage work.

How dare any of you sit there in judgment of me as if you’re all perfect.
Wow.

Just wow. I assume you’re a troll, but just in case you’re not, here’s my response.

Love and understanding? We can love you as a Christian brother and still call you out on being selfish. Honestly, it wouldn’t be loving not to. Your post displays an extremely self-centered opinion of what happened. You make yourself out to be the victim when in fact you are the perpetrator. So your wife isn’t as “wifely” as you want her to be. That’s no excuse to go out and have an affair.

You admitted you were wrong, sure, but your post lacks even the slightest hint of remorse for your actions. In fact, you seem to be most sad about the fact that you weren’t able to keep seeing the woman. That is opposite of what you should be remorseful for.

Even in this post, you casually claim you’re sorry, and then excuse yourself for you behavior by placing the blame squarely on your wife.

You need to grow up and be a man. Take responsibility for what you’ve done wrong, and don’t try to foist the blame onto your wife. If she’s not available for you sexually, that sucks, but it does not give you an excuse to cheat on her.

If you’re genuinely interested in saving your marriage, you should check out Retrouvaille. It’s a very good retreat for couples experiencing problems in their marriage. It was created by a couple who were ready to call their own marriage quits. They each found out the other was cheating on them in the same day. Instead of blaming each other, they took responsibility for their sins and set to work rebuilding their marriage. This program is the end result of that decision, and it’s helped a lot of couple rediscover their love for one another.

Yeah, I was waiting for this; pretty typical troll post for CAF. Post something inflammatory and then criticise all us Catholics for being judgmental.

But in case I’m wrong, or even if more than likely I’m right, I’ll reiterate my earlier advice - it’s time to grow up.

I know I’m a sinner saved by grace. The problem isn’t so much the sin; but the lack of repentance.
