My mom just emailed me with some sad news- her little dog, Jazzie, was hit by a car this afternoon. She was good and loyal companion to my mother these past few years. Can you please say a prayer for her?

Thank you.

Here is a copy of the email from my mother:

A little before 3:00 p.m. today Jazi was killed in the street in front of my house. A girl walking home from school called to her from across the street at the time Jazi and I were doing our daily mail check. Jazi started towards the curb and stopped when I said, “No.” I turned and continued up the driveway when I heard the girl scream. The high school was just letting out and a car blaring loud music and at least four young people were coming at a high speed. Evidently Jazi had decided to cross over anyway and the car hit her before she reached the other side. The car paused at the corner then with a squeal of tires turned and went down the hill. A crowd quickly gathered and some thought she might still be alive. I wrapped her in a blanket and sped off for the vets knowing all the time that this was a trip in vain. The vet said she probably died instantly.

As I write this message I can only reflect on the great love and joy for life that little dog had. She was a lover in the best of definitions…a great and unqualified lover for all who came into her short life. How does one replace such a friend?

You know, I just had a bad dream about my cat, Precious, almost dying and this thread brought tears to my eyes. I really feel sorry for you and your mom. Praying for you and your mom.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

I am so sorry. I love animals and because of my husband’s illnesses (pancreatic cancer, enormous allergies, etc.) we cannot have a pet…I have had many pets in the past and I believe that little angel of a dog was lifted up to heaven by St. Francis of Assisi…Every time my car passes an animal of any sort that has passed away I pray to St. Francis…God, please comfort this loving family who gives so much and yet lost their little pet. Pets give us unconditional love…as You do. Please comfort them and give them peace…

My Heart Goes Out To You. I Have 2 Dogs And They Are Part Of The Family.

May God Give You Comfort And This Sad Time! You Are All In My Prayers

Oh yes, I will definitely pray. Pets are a major part of our family… and we grieve so for them when they leave us!:signofcross:

Praying…Hail Mary…😦

I’m so sorry for your mother’s loss. Praying…

St. Rocco, please pray for mommyof4’s mother.

Awww, can you imagine how bad that girl feels who called to Jazzi? I will say a prayer for all who witnessed this too, and the one who hit your Mom’s dog. I can only imagine how bad your Mom must be feeling, I will say a prayer of comfort for her.

Keeping your mom and all those who witnessed this tragic accident in my prayers. may God give them comfort and lessen any thoughts they have of guilt for it was not their fault. Things happen and we don’t understand why or how someone (or some little pet that we love) is taken from us. god bless you. I’m keeping you all in my prayers.

My wife and I have lost two of our little boy dogs to age in the last two years, each at the rather old age of 15 years. We had plenty of time to prepare ouselves for their being taken from us, and yet it was still an awful thing to have them gone.

To have one’s little one taken by an auto accident would be much worse indeed. I hope I never experience that.

My prayers are tearfully with you now and whenever our new little girl pup lends us her unconditional love and doggy-kisses.

Bless you in your kindness for caring for our little pals, and in your knowing and accepting that they must be taken before us from before we even come to know them and love them.

Please don’t let this tragedy keep you from getting their little puppy love in the future, and make getting that love in the very near future a priority.

Thanks for the good cry. I needed to remember my departed boys, and my little wiggling girl, today. Thank you.

Thank you all for your prayers. She did get a new dog last week, and she is a little cutie! The dog is a papillon, and is very nice tempered and well behaved.
