You have made our hearts for yourself O Lord, and they are restless until they rest in you.
We ask you to bless our restlessness in our search for you, so as you may live in our lives, and in the events confronting us.
Finding you, may we be faithful to you God of history, faithful to Christ our Lord and Savior, faithful to the Church and her teaching and faithful to our particular state of life which we have chosen to serve you.
O Wonderful St. Augustine, glorious on account of your wisdom and miracles and through the will of Jesus who conversed with you, disguised as a little child, the mystery of the Holy Trinity, obtain for me of his bounty the grace which I ardently desire from the depths of my heart. You who were so compassionate toward miserable sinners, regard not the unworthiness of those who pray to you, but the glory of God that it may once again be magnified by the granting of the particular request For KamaDuck’s mother which I now ask for. Amen.
Lord Jesus, let me know myself and know you,
And desire nothing save only you.
Let me hate myself and love you.
Let me do everything for the sake of you.
Let me humble myself and exalt you.
Let me think of nothing except you.
Let me die to myself and live in you.
Let me accept whatever happens as from you.
Let me banish the self and follow you,
And ever desire to follow you.
Let me fly from myself and take refuge in you,
That I may deserve to be defended by you.
Let me fear for myself, let me fear you,
And let me be among those who are chosen by you.
Let me distrust myself and put my trust in you.
Let me be willing to obey for the sake of you.
Let me cling to nothing save only to you,
And let me be poor because of you.
Look upon me, that I may love you.
Call me that I may see you,
And for ever enjoy you. Amen.
DAY FIVE
I salute you, St. Augustine, ornament and glory of Christianity. I salute you, great Saint, cherub of wisdom and seraph of divine love. I rejoice at the favors our Lord has so liberally bestowed upon you. In humility and confidence I entreat you to help me, for I know that God has given you charity and pity, as well as power. I ask you by the love you did feel toward the Infant Jesus, as you conversed with him about the mystery of the Trinity, of the favor I seek through your intercession in this novena.
(1) Our Father, (1) Hail Mary, (1) Glory Be
