There isn’t much more to say then what I have said in the title. Last night I got a call from a cousin asking if I had the key to my mother’s trailer. The police were outside the trailer and could see my mother laying on the floor and needed permission to knock down the door. I gave it. Within a very short time, I received another call saying that she had passed away. The coroner is going to say the death was due to complications of cirrhosis of the liver. She wasn’t an alcoholic but she had addiction to several pain medications.

I really don’t feel anything right now, just numbness. My sister, brother and I have started arrangements to have her buried near my Dad. We are also sorting through the mound of items that she had collected. She was such a horrible pack rat that some places in her home are difficult to maneuver in.

I guess that I am asking for prayers right now. Due to the fact that my mother had a difficult personality, I hadn’t spoken with her in six months. I had wanted to contact her, but she could be so hard to deal with that I dreaded speaking with her. Plus she had turned her anger toward my kids, even going so far as to tell my eight year old that she wasn’t going to heaven.

So, anyway, if you could just send up a little prayer for me and my siblings I would really appreciate it.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. You and your siblings are in my prayers!

God bless,
Autumn

Mass in the morning will be offered for you mom by my family. My own mom is 88, and lives with dementia and more. Life is difficult, but losing family is more difficult.

Prayers are with you.

I will pray for you and your whole family and for your mom’s soul too. This is a hard time for sure.

Oh Deb…I’m so sorry. I will offer my Mass tomorrow morning for your mom, you, and your family.

May Our Lord give you His comfort, you and all your family. May your mother rest in everlasting peace.

I am so sorry for you. It is painful to lose someone you love. I will pray for your family.

So sorry, Deb. It’s very sad, and because of the difficulty in the relationship, a lot of issues will probably come up for you in the months to come. It’s hard to let go of the relationship that you never had, and now there’s no chance to have it. I went through these feelings with the loss of my mother.

God Bless you, Deb

My prayers are with you and your family. I can imagine how it is for you. I will put you on St. Therese’s prayer line www.littleflower.org

I just sat down to read a few post because I tried to call my 82-year-old mom who lives alone in Phila. (I’m in New Orleans) and her phone is busy. It was busy last night when I called and again tonight. It makes me very scared. She also has a very difficult personality and at this point in time hates my sister and my brother and her brother. This is the only close family left other then cousins that are as old as she is. As far as how she feels about me it seems to fluctuate were most times I am ok but other times I am “Just like the other two”. I love her and wish I knew what to do to make her life better but she doesn’t want to come live here in New Orleans. It is very difficult having an aging parent especially one that has emotional problems.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you in this hard time.

I was just about to go to bed and I decided to get on this site one last time. For the next few days, I probably won’t be able to post. Anyway, I was so surprised that my post got responses so quickly. Thank you so much. I have been on other forums but something about this one seems like a caring family. Your kindness just blows me away.

I will pray for you and your family at Mass tomorrow. God bless you.

You and your family will be in my prayers, so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry. I wish I could give you a big hug! I’ll keep you close in prayer, as well as your siblings, children, husband and most especially your mother’s soul.

I am so very sorry. I will pray for you & your family at mass in the morning.

Deb First off let me offer my deepest sorrows for your familys loss,My family will be praying for you all.
secondly let me say that I doubt very much the anger you expressed was directed at your children was actually from your mother, I am sure it had a lot to do with the liver problems,
Having some friends whos parents also had this disease I learned fast that people with liver problems seem to be suddenly mean, or actually appear that way.also know that the “difficult personality” was due to the pain med addiction.I have experience with that one as well on a much more hurtful level, so i know your pain on that.
relize that now her addictions and pains are gone,
You can communicate to her and she will hear you.
through prayer everything is possible.
I am sure through your daily activities you will notice your parents
are with you always, they may retire in body but they are still with us and doing that parent thing of being our safety nets long after…

May peace and happiness fill your lives

all our prayers
John
