Please pray with me for my mother.

She is in an aged facility recovering from a new hip replacement. She also continues to have daily diarrhea and vomiting. Every test and scan have come up with nothing and now she is in the too hard basket for medical professionals. I am having horrible dreams about holding her death certificate and not realising that she has died. I am really emotional that every one has given up, can you imagine being 74 with a new hip, in a new place and having daily nausea, vomiting and with diarrhea and have it feel like every has stopped finding out what is wrong. I dont think her body will put up with this for much longer. This has been going on for 3 years.

My prayer is that I can get her to a pathology collection centre to do a heli co bacter pylori test. That this be a solution for my mum and an end to her illness.

God give the both of you strenght and courage to face this trial. Remember that God is never going to leave you alone, no matter how off-kilter you feel or how sick your mom feels. Remember also that no matter how bad things seem, at the end of the day, there will be relief, and God’s Presence is the ultimate cure for everything. It’s horrible to have to deal with a sick older parent, and I symapthize as my dad is going through troubles. God give you strenght.
 
Since the doctors can’t find nothing wrong with your Mother… now is the time for you to take over with home remedies.
For the nausea and vomiting your mum needs anti-motion sickness pills like dramamine or Bonine or a prescription drug that is a Trans-derm scop that you put behind your Mum’s ear for the nausea and vomiting. When the nausea stops… the vomiting will stop too.
I truly like the Trans-derm scopolamine that I put behind my ear when I had a hand surgery recently. I always get nausea and I vomit when I get surgery. It worked like magic and I felt great. Most people wear them for motion sickness. But it is also good for after surgery.
Doctors will not give you what you feel you need unless you request it.

I think your Mum is eliminating all the medication they put inside of her when she had her surgery. It is now time to stop the problem. It is really interesting how doctors don’t think about simple things to help a person with over the counter medications.

Give your Mum everyday some anti-diarrhea medicine that you can buy over the counter.
I like emodium. Give her two every day. or give her more tablets if necessary. I have been taking them for 10years now. The doctors can’t find a cure for my diarrhea.

Put her on a lactose free diet and a gluten free diet. No spicey foods or restaurant foods.
Make her a chicken rice soup. Can she eat bananas?

Ask your Mum if she feels like the room is moving in circles or that she is moving. The cause could be her inner ear that is creating the problem. She most likely feels dizzy which can cause her to fall down if someone doesn’t help her when she wants to get up.

I have all of the above problems where the doctors have found nothing wrong with me.
But I am able to control all of the above by doing those things.

Since the doctors have given up on your Mum you should take charge of doing all you can to make her comfortable. Have a doctor approve all that you want to do for your Mum so the nurses will not give you any problems at the nursing home.

Many years ago a doctor told a mother to take her baby home because it was going to die.
My Mum told the baby’s mother to give the baby just water and honey and no milk products.
The baby got better and it was like a miracle. It was the years of the 1940’s when doctors had still not discovered why the baby was ill and was going to die.
It is now the 2010 year and doctors have discovered a cure for the problem for babies who are alergic to milk products. They give the babies water and sugar or honey and then they put the child on a special diet for life.

I am telling you this story because eventhough your Mum’s doctors don’t know how to cure your Mum… it may be as simple as home remedies to help your Mum.

LaLucia - I liked your post until I read the giving a baby honey part. I know this comment is OT, but we should never give an infant under one year old any honey. There are three types of botulism (which is one of the most deadly forms of bacteria known to man): there is *infant botulism *which is caused by ingestion of the spores (not the toxin itself); there is foodborne botulism, which is caused by the direct ingestion of the botulinum toxin; then there is wound botulism, in whic an open wound becomes infected by the Clostridium botulinum.

Other than that, LaLucia - I would advise the same!
 
Shae, I have another idea… What medicines are the doctors giving your Mum? A lot of medicines cause nausea, vomiting and diarrehea. Please check out the information on each drug to see if they cause those problems.
Also Milk of Magnisium sp can cause diarrehea.
I think your dream is telling you to check out what is causing your Mum’s problems.
What foods are they giving her at the home? She could be allergic to some of the foods.
You should taste the foods to see if it tastes normal or rancid.

I was taking a high blood pressure medicine for two years and it created a bad dry cough at night-time when I would take the medicine. I suffered for two years until one day I read in the newspaper that the meds I was taking was causing my dry cough at night. I changed meds and the problem went away.
Another time I was using prescription eye drops for my eyes and it started to cause me to feel like I couldn’t breath. I went to a specialist and the doc said I was okay from my lungs.
I went back to my eye doctor and I was told that they found that the eye drops were causing the feeling of not being able to breath. I was relieved when I stopped using it.

So you see… yourMum could be suffering from many causes that can’t be detected until the medicine or food is not being given anymore.

My advise is for everybody here because some of you may be having some problems that are being caused by what you eat or medicines that you take.

Regarding the honey, all I know is that the milk was killing the baby and the water and honey saved the baby’s life.
Maybe doctors have now created a new substitute for milk for babies who have that problem.
Thank you for your information regarding not giving honey to babies. I wasn’t aware of the problems it can cause for babies.

I don’t think I have changed the topic because something is causing the OP’s Mother to be ingesting something that is causing her problems. Or… it could be another medical problem that her doctors are not aware of.

I don’t allow doctors to give my parents whatever they feel is good for them.
One time a doctor prescribed Provera which is a female hormone for my old dad. I read the insert and it gave all of the things that would change in my dad’s body. I fought with the Pharmacist and I asked why the doctor would prescribe that med for my dad. The Pharmacist said the doctor knew best. I threw the medicine away.
My sister got angry with the doctor. The doctor said… so you think you are a doctor?

Doctors have also said that to me too.lol. I think it is funny because I don’t allow doctors to give meds that don’t agree with me. I always see specialist for whatever medical problem I may have.

I have also heard of terrible care in most old age homes. Not a good place to be at if the home
doesn’t have enough help or care about their patients.

LaLucia — I meant that * I * might be changing the topic, not you! 😉

The babies who have milk allergies generally are given formula or foods with soy. My grandson has a milk allergy (which we hope he will outgrow) and he drinks soy milk and avoids foods with milk in them.

Have you tried to take your mum off all milk products? It could be a milk allergy causing the diarrhea/n/v. You could try her on soy milk and a lactose-free diet.

I am praying your mum gets better.

O Good Saint Anne,
so justly called the Mother of the infirm,
the health of those who suffer from disease,
look kindly upon the sick person for whom I pray.

Alleviate their sufferings,
cause them to sanctify them by patience,
and by complete submission to divine will.
Finally deign to obtain health for them
and with it the firm resolution to honor Jesus, Mary and yourself
by the faithful performance of their Christian duties.
