I go out walking with my neighbor (she’s 78 and widowed, i’m 15, nothing special, she just needed someone to walk with) a few times a week. We talk about lots of stuff, and today I brought up the topic of God. She said that God was just a myth of some sort to comfort people. She is a fallen-away Catholic, and she believes in evolution. I’ve tried to explain to her about God, but she says that there is no proof, and that Religion is for weaklings. She’s really a nice lady, but not religious. Im worried that she might end up in hell, but I don’t really know. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pray for her. Be the Face of Christ to her. If she needs something (yard mowed, errands run), try to help her. Talk about your faith if she asks you. Visit her. Hold her up before the Holy Trinity like a priest holds up the Host.

I do visit her, pray for her, and do things for her. She seems to be very grateful for it also. But I will try to do more. Thanks JkirkLVNV.

Pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy for her.
Ok. Thanks Thistle! Im not too familiar with the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Could you enlighten me?

Pray for her & be kind to her. If she gets into heaven, you may not know unless and until you get there yourself. God is both Justice and Mercy, you will not know the state of her heart upon death, nor how God will Judge. Just remember Jesus is a myth, a myth that came true. Religion is for the weak, but remember blessed are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. It is better to be humble enough to admit your poor than prideful and lose heaven. No matter how rich you are you and your fortune will be dust once you die, unless of couse you ask to stay in the Lord’s place. Just remember a clean wedding garment is required.

You should have stopped after the word judge as everything after that is a jumble of confusion.

dude, i wish you were my neighbor.

When she says “Thank you”, you might say that you thank Jesus for giving you the grace to be the type of friend to her that you are.

Mother Theresa would pause and look at each person she met… she said she was looking at Jesus because He is in everyone of us.

I really appreciate the replies guys, it means alot to me. I guess I really won’t know if she will be in heaven, unless i’m up there. When that will be in don’t know. But until then, I’ll just have to keep on praying. For some reason, I didn’t think about that we are weak, we are sinful. Thanks for bringing that up jman. Thanks again guys.

I remember when the renowned philosopher, ex-governor Jesse Ventura, was heard to say that he thought religion to be “a crutch for the weak-minded.”

My comeback: Inasmuch as we are all weak, I’d rather be a weak person with a crutch, than a weak person without one (like certain ex-governors)… 😉
