I don’t think it’s fair to say that women must work in creative fields. Or that the default for woman is to not work at all. That’s not authentic catholic femininity, that’s simply just traditional/stereotypical femininity. God makes us all unique and he wants us to use those gifts (be it painting, or fixing up old cars).
I’m in love with engineering. And I don’t think that’s a flaw in my identity as a woman at all! Saying that women who are co providers are less feminine is frankly really hurtful.
It is your opinion, not Catholicism’s.
You are absolutely free to express it, of course, but at least make it clear that it’s yours instead of expressing it under the guise of “authentic catholic femininity” :frowning_face_with_open_mouth:

Code:I never said there is a flaw in your identity as a woman.
Code:Perhaps, you might be taking this a little too personally because it speaks to something within you?
Code:A woman’s femininity is enhanced when she is allowed to be creative, work in a creative field or indulge in creative pursuits….just as a man’s valour and sense of self-worth increases when he is productively engaged in physical activity.
Code:It’s not just my personal opinion…..it’s science….it’s proven…..and it is also common sense.
Code:Do I believe that engineering is a feminine job? Absolutely not! However, it is your choice and it is something you enjoy.
Code:This post was written for women who want to embrace or enhance their natural femininity…..NOT for feminists, NOT for tomboys and NOT for those who comfortable in their present status, as you clearly are.
Code:Thanks for stopping by! God bless!
