I got my new missal from Midwest Theological Forum today. It killed me to spend the money, but I went for the one in black leather. I figure if I use it every Sunday for ten years, it will be only $0.17 per Mass.

It is much thicker than I thought it would be, thick enough where it easily accomodates six ribbons. I thas some heft to it. You are not keeping this thing in your back pocket like a magnificat. But it is spectacular to hold. The pages are true parchment, like a fine Bible, very thin, and I have to be careful as I tend to be rough. Iāve just opened it for the first time and began breaking in the binding and canāt wait to begin exploring it and using it at Mass. It is not a trivial expense so Iāll try to give some more impressions over the next day(s) if I can. Meanwhile, here are some pics.
