Great site my friend, two thumbs up! 👍

I like your links page, very extensive. Great work.

Thanks all…I added the unit converter thingy to the front page because I not only thought it was neat, but I’m always having to convert from metric to English units, and it just seemed like a great place to always have it around…

The site looks pretty good, and should help a lot of people. The one exception I noted was your section on “Evolution” which, unfortunately, I found to be loaded with inaccuracies and false conclusions. I recommend a thorough reworking of this material. Along these lines, you may wish to obtain the following excellent resources:

Francisco J. Ayala, Darwin and Intelligent Design (Fortress Press, 2006); ISBN 0-8006-3802-6

Keith B. Miller, Perspectives On An Evolving Creation (Eerdmans, 2003); ISBN 0-8028-0512-4

Kenneth R. Miller, Finding Darwin’s God: A Scientist’s Search for Common Ground Between God & Evolution (HarperCollins, 1999); ISBN 0-06-017593-1

Ted Peters & Martinez Hewlett, Can You Believe In God & Evolution? A Guide for the Perplexed (Abingdon, 2006); ISBN 0-687-33551-5

Andrew Petto & L. Godfrey, eds., Scientists Confront Intelligent Design & Creationism (Norton, 2007); ISBN 0-393-05090-4

Donald R. Prothero, Evolution: What the Fossils Say & Why It Matters (Columbia University Press, 2007); ISBN 978-0-231-13962-5

All but the last two were written by Christians, and these last are just too important to ignore. May God bless your efforts on his behalf.

I would make another correction as well: On your site, the Seventh Day Adventists are listed as being founded by William Miller. It was actually founded by Ellen G. White (although her and her associates were followers of William Miller).

Thanks to all. I will definitely investigate, although I still have my doubts about evolution. I read somewhere where there is a distinction between Darwinism (no God involvement) vs. evolution with God involved in the process. Still, I have my doubts, since I wasn’t there to see it all happen, and there is no proof yet. And the Church has not come out with a definitive position on it, one way or the other.

Some of these protestant sects, um, evolved, over time, and their creators are somewhat shadowy. The Assemblies of God is another sect which has a shadowy beginning.

Pax Christi…

I admire your dedication to searching out the truth, and encourage you to continue your study of these issues. The books recommended above will certainly aid you in your investigation.

Actually, the scientific concept of Darwinism, since it is a scientific (and not a theological) concept, cannot say anything whatsoever concerning whether God was or was not involved in the process. Things like gods and supernatural causes are simply beyond the proper scope of scientific inquiry, and so one must turn to religion for such realities. Hence, the idea of “evolution with God involved in the process” is essentially a theological conviction (known by faith, Heb. 11:3), and not a scientific conclusion.

…and there is no proof yet.
On the contrary:

And the Church has not come out with a definitive position on it, one way or the other.
The Church has had much to say about certain atheistic scientists (Richard Dawkins, for example) who have attempted to promote their atheism as though it were “science.” However, this is not pronouncing upon science, but rather upon philosophy masquerading as science. Indeed, the Church is equipped to make definitive statements on matters of faith and morals, but not properly on matters of science, which is why, as you point out, the Church has made (and will make) no such pronouncement.

I highly recommend the following website, which has a lot of good information on evolution from a Catholic perspective:
