Hi. My name is James. I am new here. Unfortunately, I do not k.ow how long I can stay. Before God brought me to repentence I lead a very immoral life. This was many years ago now and my life has been changed for the better. Now my past has come back in the form of legal retribution. While I am fully deserving of this, I am very scared. I do not want to be taken away from my fiance, my friends and parish! Please pray that God takes this cup from me or at least gives me the strength to face it. It would bring me great comfort to know that you all are praying for me…so please pray. God bless all of you.

**Lord Jesus Christ,
We believe . . . that nothing great is done
without suffering, without humiliation,
and that all things are possible by means of it.
We believe, O my God,
that poverty is better than riches,
pain better than pleasure,
obscurity and contempt than name,
and ignominy and reproach than honor . . .

O dear Lord,
though James is so very weak at thim moment,
and feels that he nis not fit to ask for your mercy,
he had the strength to ask for it here.
We beg of your grace to meet all of his suffering.
Lay all your grace and mercy upon him now.

AMEN**

St. Philomena gracious virgin, you endured such pains for the love of Christ, help this child of Jesus have the strength to endure this trying time. Amen

I will pray that God provides you the strength to handle what is coming. May God’s grace be with you.

May the saints of the Almighty form a wall of strength around you to give you and your loved ones all the support you so desperately need. Work with them to profit from their experiences and accept whatever comes your way with the Lord’s peace. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Dear God we know that you are a merciful God please help our brother in Christ in his hour of need, and give him hope, love and guidence that only you can. And please have Mercy on him and help him to live in the light of your ways for the rest of his life. Amen.

James, you are very wise to ask for prayers.

The best prayer seems to be that the will of God be done
  • and then that we have the grace to accept it.
You’re in my prayers.

Well said. I pray you are granted the strength to make it through this rough time through the intersession of Our Lady.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Thank you all! I am so moved by your words if kindness and thank God for all of you. One other thing. My fiance’s grandmother has been diagnosed with cancer. Please keep this in mind too.
Thanks again.

I pray that God will give you the strength you need to endure whatever comes your way. I will also pray for your fiance’s grandmother. God bless you and your family.

May God bless you and keep you.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Canticle Isaiah 38
The psalm of Hezekiah on recovering from sickness

I said, in the middle of my days I am going to the gates of the underworld.
Where shall I find the remainder of my years?

I said, I will not see the Lord God in the land of the living,
I will never see another of the inhabitants of the earth.

My dwelling-place is taken away, taken far away from me, like the tent of a shepherd.
Like a weaver, he has rolled up my life and cut it off from the loom.

From morning to night, you have made an end of me.

I cried for help till daybreak; like a lion, he has crushed all my bones.
From morning to night, you have made an end of me.

I twitter like a fledgling sparrow, make noises like a dove.
My eyes are weak from looking upward.

But you have pulled my soul out of the pit of destruction,
you have put all my sins behind you.

For after all, the underworld will not proclaim you, nor death praise you;
those who go down there do not wait in hope for your faithfulness.

It is the living, the living who will proclaim you, as I do today.
Fathers will pass on to their children the truth of your faithfulness.

Save me, Lord, and to the sound of the harp we will sing to you,
all the days of our life, in the house of the Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Continuing to pray for you today. I will also say a prayer for your fiance’s grandmother. May God grant her a complete healing and peace.

Praying for you to get through this time and also for your loved one with cancer. St. Peregrine, Patron Saint of Cancer sufferers, Hear our prayer and heal their loved one. Amen.
