My Parish Priest has just opened up a consultation, and a request, to those of us that attend the EF Mass this side of the city, whether we would like to fulfill our Sunday Obligation in the EF, and also whether any of us would be interested in being trained to be part of the Schola/Choir for the Parish, and to be fully funded in learning Gregorian Chant, so that the Sunday evening EF Mass would be a regular Missa Cantata with a Solemn High Mass on all major Fests (Pentecost, Ascension, Easter, Christmas, Epiphany etc).
I knew this is the route he wanted to go, but I never thought, especially with the opposition in the Parish, that he would go through with it! I’ve put forward my name that I would both Serve and join the Schola, and that I would be happy to train other Servers (with my limited knowledge granted!).
on top of this (major) part of the review of the EF in our Parish, he has asked if we would like to move the time of the EF Low Mass on Fridays to 6pm instead of 7pm, however this was a single question, in a two page questionnaire that we was all given, which has also been sent to other Parishes locally.
Deo Gratias!
