My priest is going to think im crazy-how often to go to Confession?

Any holy priest knows that, since many sins are habitual or addictive, they won’t disappear overnight despite our best efforts. They take time and much grace to conquer, and must necessarily be repeated in confession. If your parish has many confessions in a given week, chances are he won’t remember what you confessed last week.

You’re availing yourself of the best way to blot out a sin from your soul, a sin, which, left unrepented, could, in the afterlife, have nefarious consequences. With all due respect, your Priest’s opinion of you is of Lilliputian importance here.

No, This isn’t entirely the case. The Church teaches that a person should confess at least once a year * if conscious of mortal sin.* See Canon Law 989.
There is no blanket requirement if not conscious of mortal sin. Perhaps you are confusing it with the requirement to receive Holy Communion once a year?
 
  1. You are not crazy for wanting to confess a mortal sin – ever.
  2. It’s extremely unlikely the priest will judge you as crazy.
  3. It doesn’t ever matter how a priest judges us, if he does, anyway. We’re confessing to Jesus, the priest is Christ’s ambassador and is CELEBRATING our reconciilation with our Lord.
  4. Thank God for His graces. He is helping you to recognize your contrition and your yearning to be reconciled with Him!

I just thought he was going to look at me weird (maybe even not want to hear it) because i just went last week. Im going today and am nervous 😦
 
If you go to the same priest then he will get to know you in confession and allow yourself to be guided by his advice even when it feels so hard at times. 👍
