My questions to JW's

When someone says my religious organization is wrong because of XYZ, the logical question to ask is if they apply the same rules and logic to testing their own church.

Jeff’s argument was JW faith would fall based on understanding of some “authority scripture” he wants to put to the fore. My question was intended to reflect the same question back to him to see if he was consistent.

If that is unfair, inconsitent, or breaks forum rules… then I’m done with this thread.

Have fun by yourselves.
not as far as i know.

Short and sweet. False religion, false doctrine, mutilation of Scripture, lying, coersion, mind control and manipulation. All the earmarks of a cult are possessed by the Watchtower. A non-Christian cult. Full stop.

TC is the OP. If he/she does not think its a breach of rules to bring up the CC in a thread that is addressed to inconsistancies of the JW’s so be it.

The Original Post did not read that way to me.

But, IF its open game now to defend the Primacy of Peter, The OP can give the okay.

I personally dont understand how this will address the inconsistancies of the JW’s.

All it does is show how the CC is consistant with the teaching of the Primacy of Peter. But, To each his own.🤷

And you are similarly concerned with the Catholic Church’s role at the UN?

seechange.org/

Or, you just feel motivated to judge and criticize the WT? They chose to be an NGO for 10 years, they choose to stop being an NGO.

The only reason this is being discussed is a desire on the part of JW-critics to want to find fault.

If being an NGO/UN is REALLY a concern to you, start by telling us about your UN concerns related to the Catholic Church.

jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-un-ngo/

If YHWH has a problem with the WT being an NGO for a period of time, he’ll take care of it, along with any and all church organizations who are NGO’s.

Until then, Matt 7:1-3 may apply.
The Catholic Church does not teach that the U.N. is the scarlet wild beast of Revelation. I have no problem with it being an observer at the U.N.

I read the arguments made at the link you provided and I have several comments to make.

First of all the author goes through great lengths to try to convince us that the WTS did not sign anything wherein JWs agreed to support the U.N. And he provides us with the 1991 application form. My question is, is this the only form the WTS received from the U.N.? Did it receive other forms and brochures? That Feb. 1992 press release by the U.N. certainly contradicts what this author says. “The NGOS officially recognized by DPI COOPERATE WITH THE UNITED NATIONS to help public understanding AND SUPPORT UNITED NATIONS PROGRAMMES AND GOALS…To be granted association with DPI, NGOS must be not-for profit organizations with recognized national or international standing; SUPPORT THE CHARTER of the United Nations; have a broadly based membership; and possess the resources necessary for effective outreach.” How could the U.N. state these directives if NGOS were not aware of what they were getting into? Moreover, look carefully at that 1991 application form that is linked on that site. At the top it states “Please note that association of your Non-governmental Organization (NGO) with the Department of Public Information (DPI) requires proof of your organization’s non-profit status and with AN ANNUAL REPORT ON ITS ACTIVITIES RELATED TO UNITED NATIONS ISSUES.” How did the WTS carry this out? And if they didn’t agree to support the U.N., why was an annual report of its U.N. related issues required? What were the WTS’s U.N. related issues?

Then after going through all this trouble to try to prove that Paul Hoeffel is either lying or mistaken, he tells us that even if the Society had agreed to support the U.N. and the principles of its charter, it would not violate Bible principles. He argues that the U.N. is like any other government and that we are to be subject and respectful to it per Rom. 13. Now, I ask you, what citizen of the United States believes that he is also a citizen of the U.N.? An organization is not a government. The U.N. has no influence or power other than what its member nations give it. It can make no laws for citizens of the U.S. It does not have its own armed force; it must depend on the armies of its member nations. Look at its role in Darfur, Africa. How impacting is the U.N. there? There may be those who would like the U.N. to be a world government, but neither the U.S. nor any other nation at this point is willing to relinquish its own powers to attain that goal.

No, that is no reason to become an NGO. It’s not like the WTS was appealing to Caesar, like Paul did in Rome. No comparison.

simply look at my profile. iam a she. no this post is about inconsistencies with the organization. as i stated, its not about our faith.

The author maintains that none of the principles of the U.N. violate Bible principles. I would think that the very Preamble of the U.N. charter would have set up red flags. The section entitled “And for those ends” states “that armed force shall not be used, SAVE in the common interest.” Chapter 1 Article 1 has one of the Purposes of the U.N. “for the suppression of acts of aggression.” As a last resort, the U.N. can, in agreement with its member nations and by adoption of resolutions resort to the use of the military force of its members. How can the WTS be opposed to the military for its own members, and simultaneously be in agreement with the military for non-members?

Please remain on topic of discussion which is “JW inconsistencies”.

God bless-

**Much was written about the urgency of the time and how little of it was left. "The Nations Shall Know That I Am Jehovah–How? (1971), page 216: “Shortly, WITHIN our twentieth century, the ‘battle of the day of Jehovah’ will begin against the modern anti-type of Jerusalem, Christendom.” **

Heh heh heh. Yet ANOTHER false prophecy by the WTS.
They never learn. I still have a copy of that book.

God’s blessings to all,

I will never tell anyone your last name Yessisan. NEVER.

I live by a different set of rules.😉

And, I fear the pains of Hell. As much as the Jw’s ignore it.😉

Thanks Hellisreal! You are a TRUE Christian!
I don’t know about that. :o
I do know very little actually.

what I do know is, Jesus Christ told us about Loving everyone.

We have a loving Father, that we only know from the Word.
