I agree with others who have suggested volunteer work and other types of “together” hobbies. Does your college or a local parish have a ministry for college-age people? My fiance and I had a lot of fun going to movie nights, dinners, Theology on Tap events, ice skating, bowling, 2am breakfasts at a diner…you get the idea. That way, you’ll be spending time both together and with other people.
If you’re both caught up on all of your schoolwork (which I know is challenging for Engineering students!) think about planning a Saturday adventure. Research an interesting locale that neither of you has been to, take the GPS (or a map), pack some snacks, and go exploring! We discovered hiking trails, carhop-style restaurants, minigolf courses, and miles of scenic roadways.
As a fellow convert, one thing that was (and still is!) so special to me was the time my (Cradle Catholic) fiance spent explaining the daily life aspects of the faith, or helping me to understand something that came up in an RCIA session. Remembering those conversations makes attending Mass together so special.
