My religion is better than your religion

I believe the Catholic church wants unity… but under their terms.

The only way “protestants is separation and attack” is true is if you consider protestants and Catholics part of the same church… and I do not.

As a protestant, if I wanted personal unity with the Catholic church, I’d convert… Every protestant has that ability. For me, I like my religion, so “unity” is not a goal of mine.

At least in my religion (I can’t speak for any other), every other religion is tolerated and not attacked or looked at as “wrong”.
The Catholic Church does not “attack” other religions. Embracing falsehood jeopardizes souls. The Catholic Church’s purpose is to save souls.

Some seem upset over the entire protestant element. If you are not, I apologize.
It is called the Protestant Fissiparousness (falling apart). Because of Bible-only, everyone is now allowed to interpret the Scriptures after their own fancy. The individual is least qualified to interpret ancient Scripture–so what happens is splintering everytime denominations disagree over what the bible says.

Is the Holy Spirit teaching all men different Bible? Is this a work of the Spirit of Truth who will “lead you into all truth.”

I know the source of the problem; these Christians are using the Bible as the pillar and foundation of the truth, but its not, do you know what the bible says it is?

And the Church has gone through a LOT of changes in the last 2000 years since being founded.
Quite honestly, the Faith of Our Fathers by William Jurgens shows how the Church in its infancy mirrors todays Catholic Church.

“Wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” Ignatius 107 a.d.

By following the teachings of Jesus and the instructions of the Apostles handed down and entrusted to the Catholic Church.
OK, as an example please show me where it is a sin for me to have a vasectomy?

I believe the Pope is a man, just like you and me… elected to a position by other men… 2000 years displaced from the founding of the church.

Honestly I am just out of curiousity… and the topic of my thread was tolerance for all religions by all religions… live and let live.

It was never meant to get into a battle of “my religion is better than yours”.

I have no problem with the Catholic religion, what I do have a problem is people telling me it’s a sin or wrong for me to have a vasectomy, be a Mason, eat meat on Fridays, violate Islamic Law, etc when I do not subscribe to their particular religion.

Is it wrong for Catholics or Muslims to have/do some of those things… sure, but it does not apply to everyone. That’s the issue I have… the only issue. I do not push my religious beliefs on others and I expect the same.

If you wish to follow Christ then it does apply to you. That’s the point.

1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou may know how thou ought to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
I see it as a church is the house of God and one must behave there.

I know that you will not agree with me, so let’s agree to disagree.

Do you have a quote, who wrote that quote, and when?
I’m not gonna waste time looking it up. It was written by the Magisterium, the teaching authority of the Church. Founded by Christ and His Apostles and guided by the Holy Spirit.

I don’t believe that the Catholic church is the only way to follow Christ and I also do not believe that interpretations of the Bible by Popes and Bishops are any better than any other scholar (men).

Like I said, we can agree to disagree.
