Its been only three days since I bought and blessed my rosary. When I was reaching for my charging while my rosary was hanging around my neck. There was a stand fan near the socket. So I leaned then the bottom half of the cross of my rosary broke. I taped it back. And still using it. What does it mean? The suddenly breaking of a rosary.

It simply means that you accidentally broke it.

Not a thing other than you are a Catholic who actually has and uses a rosary. I have broken my share of rosaries. It you don’t use them you don’t break them. I would advise against superstition here. That would be going in the wrong direction. Fix it or buy a new one. I fixed a lot of them - still have some broken ones in a cloth bag in my drawer. I found that wooden bead ones are a little tougher, or prayer ropes are great (lost one in a lake swimming this summer, forgot to remove it) - and not wearing rosaries, just praying on them, cuts down on breaking potential significantly. I broke one on my bike handle while riding (it fell forward from under my sweatshirt or whatever). Crazy. It was actually probably a good thing I stopped wearing it on the bike, and emerged otherwise unscathed from the mishap.

It means that you were slightly careless in how you cared for your rosary. I was taught that we generally do not ‘wear’ a rosary around the neck like a piece of jewelry as it is blessed and is a sacramental. Others would not agree with my reply, but that’s OK. Go to Walmart and get the little jewelry pliers and you may be able to repair the rosary or ask around church if someone can repair the rosary for you. Peace.

It simply means that you should’ve taken it off before doing other things. Don’t throw it out though especially since it’s been blessed. Many of us have broken our roseries. They are loved, they are used and in time, they get broken.

There are people who fix broken rosaries. If you have the money, you could see about getting it fixed. Or you can buy a new one if you wish to.

It MEANS you BROKE your ROSARY:blush:

There is NO sign or other issue to worry about. Ask your parish DRE [Director of Religious Ed if they know someone in the PARISH that can repair it for you. Its likely that their is…

Use it often and it’s NOT a good idea to be wearing it. Get a pouch to carry it in, Also as a FYI, many churches have plastic rosaries in the back of church; they too can be BLESSED and are extremely durable. MAYBE get of them to carry around and use your purchased & Blessed Rosary at home

God Bless you
Patrick

Often there are many people in a parish to ask about mending a rosary. It is a prayerful time for them and is often an enduring friendship. All kinds of mishaps can happen, even just being in a pouch from one use to another can cause a breakage. I must agree the one or ones I use to go to sleep break most often and I love the feel of having my grandmother’s in my hand during the night. As in a previous post, you are catholic and using your rosary. Blessings to you.
