UGGGGHHHH!!! It comes in waves and this time it’s a bit stronger than it has been lately. I always think back to Confessions where I laid mortal sins at the cross and STILL I wonder if I am forgiven for them. I know deep in my heart that I am but I just worry…What’s going on??

Hey, I have delt with waves of scrupulosity in the past, it is a tough cross to carry. Look into Scrupulous Anonymous and IM me if you want to talk about personal experience…I’m more than happy to help!

God Bless,

Joseph

If you have not been in professional counseling about this, get thee hence. It is a terrible load to cary, and imho runs too close for comfort with issues of depression.

I would suggest that you pray for perseverance. Pick a saint and ask him/her to help you with your scruples.

“Pray, hope and don’t worry.”- St. Padre Pio

St Alphonsus Liguori is the patron saint of the scrupulous - he’d be the best choice :gopray:

Go to the scrupulous anonymous web site. Some very good info there.

God bless,
Deacon Tony

I deal with this also, usually it is more intense during lent, this time however, it hasn’t let up- does anyone know of a email support group that is catholic and deals with ocd?

I’m glad it helped. That site has been a lifeline for me at times. I would also recommend the book Understanding Scrupulosity by Fr. Tomas Santa. He is one of the former editors of Scrupulous Anonymous newsletters, and the book is absolutly fabulous.

Hey … same thing recently happened to me! It can return periodically. I get better at recognizing it each time though. So, at least there’s hope in that! God Bless you, Dude!
