Well good to know that you can straighten them out! Here is what the Vatican does not understand.

I ask myself that question all the time, seriously why is that?why is it the non-Catholic try to find only one verse in the bible after someone have give you more than one? why do you not believe Jesus words?
It would be invalid to assert it, if it were a new custom that no Christian had ever done before.First of all, you have to find a priest. This is getting harder and harder to do. A number of posters have complained bitterly about the difficulty of even finding a priest available for confession , that they don’t even show up at scheduled hours.
Second, it is invalid to assert that something is true because the relevant verses or facts doesn’t contradict it. If this logic were followed generally, then one could assert anything that facts do not directly contradict.
You’ve said this a couple of times. You do realize that even if a person who refused to forgive anyone else went to a priest, confessed every sin that he ever committed, and received absolution, it would be invalid, right? Confession requires true repentance in order to be valid, which includes not holding grudges. So the Catholic Church doesn’t have anything wrong in that regard; it says exactly the same as you do.They are believers and so am I. I have the power to forgive those who sin against me and to retain those who sin against me. **However, if I do not forgive… my sins will also not be forgiven by GOD.
The RCC has that wrong.**
Yes, you seem to be a good man. Thanks for the contribution.Hey, Anyone like my joke and reality.
So did the Bible verses in my post have no meaning? You did not see confession in there? You’ve changed the subject now…Here is what the Vatican does not understand. You cannot have your sins forgiven by Jesus UNLESS you forgive others first. Your sins are retained because you failed to forgive. A priest cannot of override this.
Or in the words of Emperor Charles V “Is is preposterous to assert that one man is right and for over 1,000 years the entire Church was wrong.” Or in this fellows case,"… 2000 years…"Well good to know that you can straighten them out!![]()
The two are not exactly the same. While Jesus had many disciples, only 12 of them were chosen to be Apostles and given the authority to forgive sins. By virtue of their offices, they also had the authority to appoint successors to carry on their ministries.
Yes, they denied Christ. But God promised Abraham unconditionally… land, people, and a King. This will come to pass very shortly. Jesus is coming very soon for His Church. Those who aren’t watching for His return will be left behind. If to deny Christ is to be worshipping “a different” God, then with what God do the Jews have a covenant? Since obviously, they deny Christ and consider Him to be worse than a blasphemer.
Again, your sins are not forgiven that way. If you don’t forgive people of their sins against you… you cannot have your sins forgiven by GOD. PERIOD. Confession to a priest is not going to help you one iota.Their are deadly sins and not so deadly sins, but sin ultimately leads to death.
Venial sins which are not deadly yet, can be confessed directly to God.
Mortal sins have to be confessed directly to Jesus, through his merciful eternal Priesthood, so that the sacrifice is made for your sins through his body and blood.
Confessing your sins to a valid priest **guarantees **your removal of sin on your soul through the Priesthood of Jesus.
If you confess your mortal sin to God, Without his Son present you do not have his guarantee and promise that you will be forgiven.
This is the difference from Catholics confessing their mortal sins to God through Jesus eternal priesthood which he established on earth through his apostles and successors.
Catholics have the guarantee and promise from God that their sins are forgiven.
Non Catholilcs are not sure if their mortal sins are forgiven.
It starts if you believe in the Priesthood of Jesus and his authority he placed on the apostles to forgive sins, or retain them. which is scriptural.
Jesus is always present when two or more are gathered in his name, in the confessional this passage comes to pass at every confession.
Jesus instituted the ministry of reconciliation for all of God’s children.
Now you have to be a part of the body of Jesus Christ for this ministry to apply, a child of the kingdom of God. There are some exceptions when it applies to the terminal ill, that makes this sacrament valid.
We know that. The priest will even tell you that, in the Confessional.Again, your sins are not forgiven that way. If you don’t forgive people of their sins against you… you cannot have your sins forgiven by GOD. PERIOD. Confession to a priest is not going to help you one iota.
That is not the same thing. You are not allowed to confess your sins to a priest unless that priest is Jesus. You MUST confess directly to the Lord. Please, all you have to do is forgive those that have hurt or offended you in any way. Then ask the Lord to forgive you of all your sins. Then you are freed from your sins. Walk in love always. Forgive always… that way your sins will be forgiven in the exact same way you forgive those who have sinned against you. You’ve said this a couple of times. You do realize that even if a person who refused to forgive anyone else went to a priest, confessed every sin that he ever committed, and received absolution, it would be invalid, right? Confession requires true repentance in order to be valid, which includes not holding grudges. So the Catholic Church doesn’t have anything wrong in that regard; it says exactly the same as you do.
You don’t need the priest. There is no middle man between Jesus and you. Confession to a man is invalid it MUST be to Jesus. We know that. The priest will even tell you that, in the Confessional.
Deny the Truth found it scripture and supported by Holy Tradition in order to try to substantiate your new religion all you wish. That will not change the truth.Again, your sins are not forgiven that way. If you don’t forgive people of their sins against you… you cannot have your sins forgiven by GOD. PERIOD. Confession to a priest is not going to help you one iota.
Well Jesus said differently, I will believe him over you!You don’t need the priest. There is no middle man between Jesus and you. Confession to a man is invalid it MUST be to Jesus.
Why would someone call himself “believer” when he neither believes the teachings of the scriptures nor the teachings of the church. Perhaps he believes in his own twisted doctrines.Well Jesus said differently, I will believe him over you!
I’ll see if I can have Karl Keating set up a telecon between the Pope, Cardinal Arinze, Moses, Ruth, Absalom, the Good Thief, and the Roman Centurion whose child Jesus healed for next thursday around 9 AM EST so we can finally get this straight…Well good to know that you can straighten them out!![]()
No, the Word of God is not wrong. If you sin against someone… don’t think you can just run to a priest a tell him and that’s the end of it. That’s not how it works. The RCC is completely wrong. Confess what you did to the person you have sinned against. Repent of your sin and ask Jesus to forgive you. Forgiveness is a very big issue with God. He wants us to be like God in that respect.**Jam 5:16
Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
It does not say confess your faults to a priest! If you do something wrong to someone… confess to that person. That person must then forgive you. If you do that then God can forgive you of your sins.**
Wrong!
In the same passage, the sick person is told to call for the PRESBYTEROI (whence the word “priests”) of the church–and it explicitly says that the prayer of the faithful (faithful whom? faithful presbyters/priests) shall save the sick, and his sins will be forgiven.
Referring to the section I put in bold, you contradict yourself and scripture. Please note the section in bold in your earlier post.
In Christianity, there there is no conflict between faith and reason. Faith is logical. So let’s use some logic here.Jam 5:16

A priest CANNOT forgive you of your sins but GOD alone. However, if you do not forgive someone of their sins against you, God cannot forgive you.
