Prayer for Mercy for the Dying

O Merciful Jesus, Lover of Souls, I beseech You, by the agony of Your Most Sacred Heart and by the sorrows of Your Immaculate Mother, wash clean in Your Blood the sinners of the whole world who are now in their final agony but especially those on their way to eternal damnation and who are to die this day.

Heart of Jesus who suffered death’s agony, I beg You have mercy on these poor souls. Amen.

O Blessed Joseph, who yielded up thy last breath in the arms of Jesus and Mary, obtain for Mary this grace, O Holy Joseph, that she may breathe forth her soul in praise, saying in spirit, if she is unable to do so in words: “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give Thee my heart and my soul.” Amen.

St. Joseph, pray for her that she may receive the grace of a happy death.

I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family.

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the soul of Thy departed servant Mary the full remission of all her sins, that through our pious supplications she may obtain that pardon which she has always desired, Thou Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.

V. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
R. And let perpetual light shine upon her.
V. May the Divine Assistance remain always with us.
R. And may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
