A prayer for your sister and others with suicidal feelings.
Father God,
The darkness has taken hold her and she can’t find her way back to the light. In this moment, ending it all seems like the best option, the only option, the only way to escape for her. Father, all powerful and everliving God, we beseech You to shine the light of Your love into her heart and soul to snuff out the darkness. You are the only light that can shine in the darkness.
When she feels like she doesn’t matter, remind her that she was created with purpose. When she finds nothing but contempt for herself, reminder her that she was created in Your image. And when feeling misunderstood, reminder her that You know the full depth of her pain. Please, give her the desire to live.
In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
