My sister needs prayer

My sister could use a lot of prayers today. She has been struggling with faith for a while and then last night my nephew, her only son, shot himself in the head and committed suicide. No one knows his reasons yet, or may ever know. He was only 27. On top of that, she had been divorced from his dad for a very long time and her son had lived with dad for several years in high school and then moved with him to Phoenix Arizona where they both worked for the past 9 years.

Strangely, I awoke out of a sound sleep about 4:30 this morning with the Fatima prayer on my lips, and for no apparent reason. I woke up later this morning to my wife giving me the news, as her brother, who is married to my sister(which is how I met my wife) had called and given her the news.

Just please pray for her, and his little sister who was supposed to begin college this week but has put that on hold for a semester to be with her mom. It’s deeply painful, confusing and heart-wrenching, to say the least, so just pray for God’s peace and hope to fill her and comfort her, and that the arms of the Lord would somehow bear her and them all up through this impossible time.

Thank you. I know the folks here at CAF are some of the greatest prayer warriors on the planet, so one of my first, or thirtieth random and wandering thoughts was to seek support from the Body of Christ here. We are all just broken and offering our tears and prayers for them.

Lord, I pray for Convert66’s deceased nephew and his mother. May you have mercy on his nephew’s soul, Lord, and console his mother at this painful, sorrowful time. May she place all her trust in you to get her through this difficult time, and may she be surrendered to your merciful love. Heal her broken heart and fill her with your healing, strengthening love so she can grow whole and well again. Amen.

This is heartbreaking. I can’t say anything much, only promise my prayers, and offering my Masses and Communions for your sister’s family and you all.

Oh my goodness, At times like this words just don’t seem enough to convey the sadness and pain that we feel for you’re sister, neice and you’re family on the terrible loss of you’re nephew, just know that you are all in our thought’s and prayers and may God in all his goodness console you all at this terrible time.
