Indeed. Indeed. When one thinks of all the Catholic parishes around the world participating in the same Easter Vigil Mass . . . When one thinks of all those who are making the same profession of faith and received into the Church . . . When one thinks of those lay hands upon their heads is a successor to the Apostles or a designate . . . When one hears the Litany of the Saints sung, testifying to our connection with all Catholics past, present, and those to come . . . When one hears the Easter proclamation “He is Risen!” . . . When one receives the Blessed Sacrament for the first time or the upteenth time . . . there is the fullness of the Church gathered before HE who has first loved us.Believe me, the Easter Vigil Mass is a memorable occasion without them even trying! It begins in the dark, both outside and inside the church, and when the lights finally come on and you sing the Gloria once again, it will take your breath away. And the Litany of the Saints! And the Catechumens being baptized! And seeing them all receive their very first Holy Communion! And . . . And . . . And . . . It WILL be so worth the wait.![]()
