My son is devastated, his partner has left him with their son...please pray

I’ll pray for you all. But let me say this.

Years ago, a young friend of mine unfortunately got his girlfriend pregnant. A daughter was born. She left him. At a point, the girlfriend’s mother gave the child to my friend (19 years old at the time) and told him he was the only chance the daughter had for a decent life.

My friend grieved over the loss of the girlfriend. I said to him “No, she did you a favor, and her mother did you and your daughter a favor. Make the most of it.” He did. The daughter is now a fine and upstanding subteen considering a possible vocation.

The girlfriend later was charged with drug crimes, married, had one child, went back to drugs. Her husband got custody of the child.

I say your son’s girlfriend did him and their son a favor, even though he can’t see it now, and he should make the most of it.
