My Son Needs Prayer

My son is severely bipolar and on prescription Dexedrine which is a potent amphetamine. He gave some to his roommates which they used to make crystal meth. He was arrested on Wednesday and has not been given his phone call home.

His mother and I are beside ourselves with anger at his stupidity and abject fear because we know how important his medications are to him. The jail is totally unconcerned.

Please, please put my son in your prayers. We cannot afford his bail nor can we afford to hire an attorney. We will not get a chance to see him until Tuesday of next week.

Lord, have mercy on this young man and his family and show compassion to him in his poor judgement. Remember that he’s young and mentally ill. Inspire jail personnel to responsibly attend to his medication needs. Give his family hope for his future and the peace and calm that comes from total trust in You, whatever the outcome. Let this experience mature him and in his need, touch his heart so that he’ll learn to reach out to You instead of drugs or sinful companions.
Let this be his moment of change of heart.
Amen.

Mother Mary, as the enemies around your Son grew stronger, as the news of His arrest and torture, and His execution came to you, and you struggled to the foot of His cross in overwhelming, mute sorrow, you experienced the extreme suffering of a parent for a child.
This young man isn’t innocent, though perhaps more foolish than havine bad intent, but his parents, and he, are suffering terribly. Please pray for them.
 
St. Pio, pray for this young man and his family. May this event create positive, lasting change in his life starting now. We know you hear our prayer. Amen.
 
Lord, please help your son who is in trouble and is sick. Please send him healing, and help him never to turn to drugs again. May he find in you a refuge and a Rock during this difficult time (and throughout the rest of his life), and may he find a way through this darkness to a place of light and comfort through prayer and deep reverence toward you. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

St. Faustina, please pray for this young man and his parents in their time of suffering. Amen.

This young man isn’t innocent, though perhaps more foolish than having bad intent, and his parents, and he, are suffering terribly. Please have mercy on them and lead this young man to be more responsible about his choices. Please help him to wisely manage his illness and his medication.
Please continue to inspire action against unlawful and dangerous minf-altering drugs
