Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Surely, our Mother Mary won’t mind if I repeat her words recorded in Luke’s Gospel, to express my own joy in God my Savior – for All His Marvellous Grace.
Yesterday after receiving Holy Communion, I renewed my Act of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary which I had prayed for the first time on June 10, 1952!!!
At age 15, with several girls in my high school class, at the invitation of our Religion Teacher, Sister Therese Catherine, OP we went to Church during our lunch hour and prayed St. Louis de Montfort’s Act of Total Consecration. I count it as one of the greatest graces in my life.
After 66 years, of Jesus’ and Mary’s loving patience with me, I continue to strive toward that holiness to which we are called by our Baptism. If you have never read St. Louis de Montfort’s classic treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” hopefully, you will consider reading it slowly and prayerfully and consider perhaps following his guidance on 33 days of Preparation for this Total Consecration.
The link above is the online version to read, but the paperback is rather inexpensive, if you find reading online difficult. There is also a website HERE which gives much good information and is administered by The Montfort Fathers, the order of priests founded by St. Louis de Montfort.
