I am giving a persuasive speech in class on moral relativism; it’s the typical community college mix - mostly non-believers, and people who profess Christianity to varying degrees.

I am trying to find the best approach to this. So far, my first point is used to describe what moral relativism is; the second point is why it is false (appealing to natural law); the third point is yet unclear. After describing what moral relativism is, and showing it’s falsehood in light of the natural law - then what? Any ideas? I would appreciate some (name removed by moderator)ut. What would be the best approach?

With evidence, you should explain why moral relativism has no base or structure, and most times is just used as an excuse to commit immoral acts.

You should easily be able to expose the flawed logic of moral relativism. It is a very unintelligent way of looking at morality.

If moral relavitism was king, why punish hitler, staling or anyone else? They were just doing what they thought was right, right?

You might find some helpful info in the on-line Catholic encyclopedia. For example:

newadvent.org/library/docs_pa06es.htm

Thanks for all of your (name removed by moderator)ut. I appreciate the links, sedonaman, especially the last one. Very useful.
