My Sunday Missal Explained

Hi, i wondered if anyone uses the My Sunday Missal Explained by Father Stedman, and what your thoughts are on it? I like the size and descriptions and am thinking of getting one of the reprints - isbn 9781930873612
 
I have the Stedman’s Missal, the St. Joseph’s Daily Missal, and have seen the Baronius Press Missal (2nd ed). If I regularly attended a TLM (which I can’t because there isn’t one in town) I would use the Baronius Press Missal. The Stedman’s Missal is okay, and it is definitely more convenient as you can stick it in your pocket. However, the ordinary is at the beginning, which places some stress on the binding with regular use. Also, the pictures in the Ordinary don’t look quite as impressive as the ones from the other choices. Also, if you go to a daily TLM this won’t be of much use to you as it is only Sundays (and holy days).
 
Thanks for answering- actually going to the TLM will be rare- maybe once a month at best- i remember when i came back to the Church i was very shocked at the changes( had been gone 20 years)- ever since then i have been wanting to go to a TLM-
 
The Father Stedman missal is pretty good. The reprint by Neumann Press is an excellent production, well-bound, nice cover, ribbon divider, etc. This is a Sunday Missal so you will get all of the readings and propers through the year for Sunday Mass. The type is not too small but they fit a lot on a small page. This missal was designed for the old days when people would carry a missal in purse or jacket pocket and read the prayers of the Mass while riding the bus or subway train, etc. It’s very convenient that way. For the price, I don’t think you can get one better (for what it does). Father Stedman’s commentary and explanation of the Mass is very good and there are some nice extras. Eventually, if you really begin to attend the traditional Mass more frequently, you’ll want to invest in a more complete hand-missal. But those can be pricey. For the ordinary in Latin & English, the Sunday propers and many other nice extras, I would recommend the Father Stedman.
