My town is filling up with strangers - not just refugees but also people who are not refugees.

Please pray not only for the next two months but also thereafter.

Sorry I shall not say what town it is.

I think we all and our homes and streets and buildings risk being horrendously vulnerable in a great number of ways.

Thank you.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I pray that you will find compassion in your heart for the poor desperate people, refugees…our brothers and sisters in need.
God bless
Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Praying for all towns, cities and neighborhoods, especially yours…

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I fly, I come to Thee,
throwing myself into the arms of Thy tender mercy.
Thou art my sure refuge,
my unfailing and only hope.
Thou has a remedy for all my evils,
relief for all my miseries,
reparation for all my faults,
Thou canst supply for what is wanting in me
in order to obtain fully the graces
that I ask for myself and others.
Thou art for me,
and for us all,
the infallible,
inexhaustible source of light,
of strength, of perseverance,
peace and consolation.
I am certain that my importunity will never weary Thee;
certain, too, that Thou wilt never cease to aid,
to protect, to love me,
because Thy love for me,
O Divine Heart, is infinite.

Have mercy on me then, O Heart of Jesus,
and on all that I recommend to Thee,
according to Thy own mercy,
and do with us, for us, and in us,
whatsoever Thou will,
for we abandon ourselves to Thee with the full,
entire confidence and conviction
that Thou will never abandon us either in time or eternity.

Amen.

A quote from another thread by meltzerboy sums it up perfectly

“Instead of devising potential, hypothetical scenarios and excuses for not helping, I would prefer that countries engage in Christian and Jewish charity toward their fellow humans. Such acts of charity toward the stranger and those in need are commanded in both the Hebrew Bible and the Gospels. It is not enough to love people from afar; we must also and especially help them when they are suffering. I should not have to point this out on a Catholic forum.”

Dear Lord we have forgotten how to love one another as YOu taught us please guide us to open our hearts and minds to Your will and Your love Amen

and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,

nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,

I wasn’t talking about anything political, thanks so much.

Shouldn’t I say to forum members, where is the One who can care? Has he as limited insight and ability as some you are mentioning?

Awareness of vulnerability is awareness of vulnerability.

Vulnerability has always been with us and has always been of all kinds.

Prayer requests are not in a box. They are a hint or a flavour. They spill over into many things unseen, maybe your town as well.

I am thanking all you forum members very much for all your continuing kindness.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost,
As it was from the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.

  • O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen*
