I probably sound rather silly but…is it bad that my t’s look like upside down crosses? Not just mine, I see them everywhere! I have tried making them look ‘upright’ but it’s rather hard to break the habit and the anxiety that comes from it can sometimes be severe. It makes writting a dreaded pain.

This is something you shouldn’t be worrying about. The shape of your “t” is entirely inconsequential, unless there is some sort of evil will behind the way you make your letters (which is highly doubtful). Besides, the upside down cross has only had sinister connotations since Satanists perverted it for their use–for centuries it was a symbol of St. Peter, who was crucified upside down–he did not see himself as worthy to die in the same manner as Christ.

I don’t mean to be be a sticky beak, but i have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and i am wondering if you have been diagnosed with the same thing? I have some habits which are ‘so hard to break’ but it is part of my OCD.

Will pray for you…🙂

Don’t scruple over such silly matters!

It’s NOT a sin to write as you do. Forget about it. Don’t worry about it. Doing so will only be dangerous to your spiritual life. Trust me.

If it makes you feel any better, you probably make the crossbar on your T that low because you are an efficient writer. Think about it- most letters are written below the crossbar on the T, so by “lowering” yours, you are economizing on hand movement. It’s why most people come up with their own “cursive/print hybrid” handwriting- subconciously we’re all looking to make our writing more efficient.

Good point. In fact, I have become so “efficient” due to the large amount of hand written letters I write to my fiancee that I don’t even cross my t’s and f’s or dot my i’s and j’s at all! 😛
