In a month and a half, I will be amongst my future Sisters (God-willing), working and paying off the debts that I have incurred to the bank. I am so thankful that Jesus has provided a way for me to be debt-free MUCH sooner than I anticipated! All the money that I will earn will be going straight towards my debt, so that I will only have to work 5 weeks!
I won’t have to worry about food or shelter because I will be living in the convent with the Sisters (kind of like a live-in) working in their apostolate! I was worried about how I was going to get there since I am not working currently (still trying to get my CNA certification; pray that I pass on April 13th), but it’s all been taken care of! Praised be Jesus Christ!
I have been informed that I will most likely be working in the nursery since I have a credential in Early Childhood Education and 40 hours from DCFS. I also have taken courses towards nursing in Human Growth and Development and Child Psychology, Though the Sisters are not teachers, they do work very closely with the children in the group home, making sure their needs are provided for. I’ve also worked in a few daycares and nurseries, so I’ve got good experience to apply to the job!
I’ve still got some paperwork that I have to finish, like a letter of recommendation from my SD (which I hope to get today or tomorrow), a short resume, and I need to submit the results of my physical and mantoux TB test to the Superior for HR needs. I’ve gotten the physical and TB stuff from my CNA classes since it was required and they are being nice enough to let me use that since I can not afford a new physical.
I am excited! I know the first week is going to be AMAZING, but I am expecting a little homesickness since I haven’t lived away from my parents for more than a week, but I am an adult, and I can get through this.
Please pray for me to have the patience to wait until May! I’m already wanting to be there right now! LOL! Plus, I’m still waiting to hear whether or not I’m accepted, so I’m praying about that, too. Thank you!
