I had a dream last night that I met St Peter and the Blessed Virgin Mary, but during their earthly lives. They sort-of knew how they’d be remembered, but still seemed a bit surprised. They were just regular people, but extremely good and holy. Peter had some kind of rod that he held and prayed with, he let me hold it and I had no idea what to do with it, so handed it on to Mary who gave it straight back to him. No idea what it was all about. I don’t think it was a vision or anything, it was just odd to have saints in my dreams. That’s not happened to me before.

What’s even stranger is that this happened on the one night in recent weeks where I haven’t prayed in the evening - usually I say a rosary, read the Bible and say compline before bed, but not last night, I was too tired.

I am not judging you, but since you asked. The first thing that came to my mind was, maybe you’re being told “you’ve been handed the rosary and the bible don’t give them away or don’t ignore them” or "maybe what you need to pray in a way that is unique to you and not necessarily the way other holy people pray. Just a thought.

I believe dreams have alot of meaning, they are all through the bible with the prophets . I believe that Mary and St Peter are letting you know that they are with you. What you can do is before you go to bed ask God if he can let you know what the dream meant and only if it is his will. I have asked God for guidance on difficult circumstances before and have been given the answer with a dream This has happened to me several times.
God Bless

I get the feeling the rod has something to do with authority. After all, it is Peter who was given authority in the Church. Biblically, there is all that stuff in Proverbs about the ‘rod of correction’ and in the 23rd Psalm it says ‘your rod and staff are my comfort’.

I think it’s got something to do with submitting to the authority of the Church, which is something I still have trouble with.

sounds very insightful. I think Mary may be telling you that she also submits. And, she will help you submit. Perhaps you could ask her to help you see the way. Maybe you should have handed the rod back to Peter in the first place.

Ugh, I had a dream last night that I was at a new agey conference. And, all the people there had been consulting psychics and had been conversing with ghosts. I kept trying to tell them they were consorting with demons. Then, possessed people were going after me, and I kept rebuking them in the name of Jesus. Maybe I’m under spiritual attack? Maybe I need to go to confession? Maybe I was just having a bad dream?
