My wife doesn't believe it's okay to pray to saints. Can you help?

My wife is protestant and she doesn’t see any where in the bible that it’s okay to pray to saints. We have watch "Jimmy Swagart: made me Catholic and “Defending your Faith” and she feel Tim Staples is miss interpreting the bible versus in reference to saints. She doesn’t see How those versus say it’s okay to pray to saints and does NOT feel it’s okay to pray to anyone (including Mary) but Jesus Christ. She feels that Saints are should not be prayed to what so ever and that Mary is held in to high regards. I don’t know how to convince her other wise.
