My wife is on a medicine to control her acne that makes her infertile, is this considered contraception?

My wife has struggled with terrible acne her whole life and the only treatment (she has tried well over 20+ prescription treatments from dermatologists) that works is a medicine that affects her hormones making her infertile while she is taking the drug, almost like birth control. Prior to my wife taking this, we practiced NFP, but now that she is infertile we do not have to practice NFP. Considering this drug is being taken strictly for her acne, is this still considered contraception?

We are trying to find another treatment that does not make her infertile so that we can practice NFP again.
