My wife thinks I'm leaving her behind

Been in her shoes, kind of. When my sister became Catholic (and I wasn’t), I saw her increased holiness as VERY challenging. I DID think she was becoming holier and thus farther away from me. And that was just my sister! When you feel the person you are with if ‘holier’ it can become to feel like they can’t relate anymore, they can’t support anymore, they can’t be the person they were.

Holiness requires a great deal of change and it can be VERY hard for those who aren’t on the same path.

It’s very important you take this slow… and bring her with.

Be so loving to her that she wants to follow along. The day you get enrolled in the Scapular, take her out for a nice grown up dinner or buy her a gift.

My husband has much longer legs than I, however, he walks slowly so I am not left behind.

Ouch. Actually, we talked tonight and she mentioned she realizes that when one person has an increase in faith, it can have a positive effect on loved ones and help them increase their faith as well.

No, she’s not controlling and I’m not a push over. She did mention she’s afraid of me becoming a fundamentalist catholic, however, so you hit the nail on the head with that.
