I thought I saw a post in this forum that the visionary/stigmatist Myrna Nazzour of Syria ( Our Lady Of Soufanieh) is scheduled to be the guest of a Seattle area Eastern Church this summer. If anyone knows about this event could you please post the details or a website ?

Hm…The only Eastern Catholic Church I know of in Seattle, WA is St. John Chrysostom, and I was just there for Divine Liturgy and I didn’t hear any mention of it, Best of luck in your search though.

It’s no rumor, she will be in the city as the “religious guest” for the 46th Annual National Melkite Convention in June. The convention is being sponsored by the St. Joseph Melkite Mission.

I’m a member of the St. Joseph Melkite Mission, so if you have any questions on the event I’ll be happy to answer what I can.

For anyone interested in why Myrna was invited, it is because the theme of this year’s convention is “Unity in Diversity”, as our Mission is mixed Orthodox and Catholic. Myrna is specially suited for such a theme, coming from a mixed family herself and having the cause of unity as such a major focus for her.

Is this part of a ‘speaking tour’ or is she now living in Oregon? Does she have a schedule of other stops?

It seems (on the surface) to be a bit strange.

It’s the 46th annual U.S. Melkite Convention, and she’s been invited to speak/attend. She’s done similar engagements before, and she’s available at the request of Catholic or Orthodox Bishops. It’s not a paying gig or anything.
