Hello brothers, do you know some spiritual books like Interior Castle or Dark night of the soul, this kind of ascetical books, describing spiritual struggle for prayer and union with God (mortification, illumination, deification)

Several by Fr. R. Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P. - The Three Ways of the Spiritual Life (aka “Three Conversions”),
The Three Ages of the Interior Life
Christian Perfection and Contemplation

Two by a contemporary writer,
The Ordinary Path to Holiness
The Interior Liturgy of the Our Father

I think all are available on Amazon.

One of my favorites isn St John of the Cross “Living Flame of Love”.

What a great gift to the Church, and to the world through the Church, is St. John of the Cross! Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange, especially in his book Christian Perfection and Contemplation, shows the beautiful compatibility - and unity in thought and perception concerning the mystical life - of John of the Cross and St. Thomas Aquinas. Most of us think of St. Thomas as an “expert” in dogmatic theology - which he is - but he is truly as brilliant in mystical spiritual theology. As should be the case! Knowledge lacking experience is incomplete.

Greetings, fellow forumers!

Personally, I’ve found I’m more the Brother Lawrence/St. Therese of Liseux type (all I can do is try to do everything with God in mind instead of any particular devotion), but all the Carmelite Doctors and Fathers and Mothers are excellent.

I am also following Divine Intimacy by Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalene, O.C.D., which at the current time of the year seems to be focused on the action of the Holy Spirit on the soul, but since it is arranged according to the Extraordinary Form liturgical year undoubtedly will cover everything that can be put into words at some point.

Several books dealing with this are
“Spiritual Theology,” by Jordan Aumann. Chapter 12, especially for the
3 stages of spiritual growth.
“The Graces of Interior Prayer,” by A. Poulain. Part III especially for the
3 stages of spiritual growth
“The Three Ages of the Interior Life,” by Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange,"
which was already mentioned here–and which some decades ago I
spent a year slowly going through, and have consulted since then.
.
Good for you for your interest, for this is the spiritual path for getting close to God, a profound part of the Catholic tradition.
