As a scientist/engineer I guess that I cannot be a good Catholic and a follower of our Saviour Jesus Christ, at least according to some on this forum. I feel like God has given me this gift and that I should use it to the best of my ability.

I ask, if God has given you a gift and you do not use it to the best of your ability is that not a sin?

Also, I do not know one of my colleagues that has ever said to me, I want to prove to you that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross for our salvation or that biblical scripture is wrong. I am sure there are some, as their are extremists in every field of endeavor, but I do not know of them.

I also find it extremely closed minded to say science is bad. Do you people not think that it is a gift from God to be able to help the sick with newly discovered medications and cancer treatments.

Again, most of this is simply a fight against the theory of evolution and the biblical description of evolution. I again, simply say this was never an issue until the last 20-30 years when the Evangelicals who quote scripture for what reasons they see fit to answer any question. I prefer to read what the Catholic church says as far as interpreting the scriptures. In fact, in my Sunday missile is the churches interpretations of the readings each week.

Go with Gods Grace!

A brilliant and passionate post, Steve711.

This is just silly. Like most atheists, Bozrath is ignorant of Christian theology. I imagine Pope Benedict would find Bozrath’s account risible.
it would seem that many Christians, including the Pope it seems are either wrongly informed and therefore ignorant of real Evolutionism - twinc

to add weight and lustre to my point - just go over to my topic “insect legs and the Bible” and see an Athiest put Catholics to shame.Be kind enough to note that rarely do I quote myself as the authority - twinc
