I don’t think that “disagreeing is the new rudeness” anymore than not voting for Obama is racist.:)

Perhaps it is only me that interpreted it as rude, but every short little snippy response to someone that holds a view opposite of yours came across like “okay,uh huh, thanks a lot, shutup, bye bye now…” Like I said, maybe it was just me…
Definitely NOT just you.

IC nothing wrong with sending pics to your husband, especially if he is away from you for some time.

Is he deployed to a combat zone? My only concern would be that if he is using a US gov’t computer, he could get into trouble for having naked pics on it. Under the circumstances, I doubt that regulation would be enforced. But strictly speaking, it could be. There is actually quite a bit of similar photo exchanging going on between BF/GF, husband/wife going on.
It definitely can be monitored AND enforced, depending upon where you are in the world and how high the security.

Definitely NOT just you.
Deborah is opinionated and is generally not afraid to share those opinons… and she looks at issues differently than lots of hardcore, conservative CAF posters. But I have to say I think she is one of the nicest persons on this forum with whom one can disagree! I think she is far less quick to be snarky and short than the average CAF poster (myself included). In fact, while it no longer surprises me, I am still saddened and irritated by how rude so many of the well known, high post count CAF posters can be.

Thanks Rico. unfortunately, PatriceA and 28562, thought I was being sarcastic when I was saying things like “I appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut” and “Thank you for sharing your thoughts” when I was actually being 100% genuine! Lol.

It’s like you saying something nice to someone, and someone else thinking you’re being sarcastic and assuming you’re a rude person. I guess it’s easy to happen via text, when you can’t hear the tone of the person. But I’m glad 28562 said something and we got it cleared up. 🙂

I find the whole “adultery between spouse” concept disturbing. We should never fear relations with out spouses in any way, shape, or form.
I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve never heard of it before either. Doesn’t the very definition itself of adultery mean that the person is NOT your spouse?

Perhaps in the biblical/Catholic sense, adultery can just mean “lust” and isn’t distictive at all between married/unmarried people. If that’s the case, then of course I agree. Lust (ie, using someone as an object) is wrong regardless of who you treat that way. But I’m sure you know/agree with that, so I wouldn’t worry about semantics.

Hi

Online Etymology Dictionary

adultery

“voluntary violation of the marriage bed,”

In Middle English, also “sex between husband and wife for recreational purposes; idolatry, perversion, heresy.”

Gotcha. Thank you for the clarification.

Just curious… what are yall’s thoughts on sending naked or half naked pictures of yourself to your spouse while you are apart for an extended period of time?

I’m assuming this would definitely not fall under the category of pornography, since it’s the person you’re married to and love/are committed to for life, and not some random stranger whom you don’t even care about.
Hi debora! I came back to this thread because, while I believe that the two of you should be doing your best to keep yourselves desirable to each other, I ask you to do some if-then thinking.

Please consider that almost everyone who makes those kind of pictures believes that no one else will EVER see them, we’ve seen, time and again how that plan can fall thru.

So, while I love the idea of the pictures please, at the very least, make a plan, acceptable to both of you as to what would happen if the pictures ever DID get out, how would you feel, how would you handle it. Cautious preparation for this possibility can’t hurt.

That said, you two are married, whatever turns you on is fine by me, I think it’s a cute idea.
